At the end of March, 159 companies declared group layoffs affecting 17,000 employees, as reported on Wednesday by the Central Statistical Office. This marks an increase compared to February when 137 employers announced layoffs involving 15,900 workers.

It is also noteworthy that the unemployment rate in Poland remains relatively low. In March 2024, it stood at 5.3%, which represents a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to February.

In the first quarter of 2024, employment offices recorded 283,900 job offers, which is a 0.4% increase compared to the same period last year. Compared to the situation a year ago, the number of offers from the private sector increased by 1.7%, while the number of offers from the public sector decreased by 6%, according to the Central Statistical Office.
