From January to September of this year, Gaming Factory, a video game developer and publisher listed on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), generated nearly PLN 2.3 million in net revenues – an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. In the third quarter alone, the company achieved nearly PLN 540 thousand in net revenues. The team is currently preparing for the spring premiere of their flagship title – Japanese Drift Master (JDM). This game has the potential to become one of the most significant events in the video game market in 2025.
In the third quarter of this year, a key event for Gaming Factory was the publication of the prologue to the game Japanese Drift Master: Rise of the Scorpion. To date, it has been downloaded approximately 500 thousand times and has received 74% positive reviews from players. This allowed the company to collect feedback on its full version. The premiere of Japanese Drift Master is scheduled for spring 2025.
“At first, we thought about launching JDM at the end of this year. However, we decided to change the date, because players expect not only an excellent mechanic, but also a unique experience, which we intend to give them. We are currently working primarily on optimization and graphic settings. The work is advanced and intensive. We want to pleasantly surprise on the day of the premiere of the full version. There is certainly something to wait for,” says Mateusz Adamkiewicz, CEO of Gaming Factory.
Despite the marketing costs for Japanese Drift Master, the company suffered a loss, but maintains a stable financial situation with a large cash reserve on hand and expected future payments from a co-publisher. From January to September this year, Gaming Factory generated nearly PLN 2.3 million in net revenues, an 18% increase compared to the same period last year.
“During the third quarter, we incurred higher marketing costs due to our presence at Gamescom and PAX West expos, which ultimately weighed on our financial results. In coming quarters, we don’t plan to attend similar events, except for promotional events funded by the co-publisher of Japanese Drift Master – 4Divinity. We believe that our presence at these expos has increased our recognition on the international scene and among industry media. I think this will have a positive impact on our pre-release marketing campaign, as well as a number of business partnerships,” adds Mateusz Adamkiewicz.
In previous periods, the company’s main production was presented at the Brasil Games Show, Tokyo Games Show, and Gamescom Asia. The cost of participating in these events was covered by 4Divinity and the group of companies.
The current level of JDM’s wishlist is over 640 thousand players. The main marketing campaign will launch in January.
Japanese Drift Master is a simcade game, combining simulation driving physics with accessibility for less advanced players. The title will offer users licensed models of iconic brands, faithfully recreated in terms of appearance, performance, and engine sound like Mazda, Subaru, and Nissan. The action of JDM game takes place in a fictional Guntama, inspired by the mountainous region of Japan.
Players will be able to explore over 250 kilometers of roads, from neon-lit city streets to picturesque mountain passes. The plot, presented in the style of Japanese manga, will focus on the rivalry for the title of the best hashiriya. The creators promise over 40 challenges related to the main mission and several side tasks. Additionally, the game will offer a wide range of events like track racing, intense drift challenges, head-to-head battles, time trials, and drag showdowns.
