Ukrainian Medical Professionals: Conditional Permission to Practice Extended Until October 24th

HEALTH & MEDICINEUkrainian Medical Professionals: Conditional Permission to Practice Extended Until October 24th

The possibility of granting permission to practice and conditional right to practice in Poland for medical professionals from Ukraine has been extended until October 24th this year.

Based on the provisions of the Act on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with the Armed Conflict in that country, approximately 4,000 doctors, dentists, and nurses from Ukraine have been able to work in Poland over the past two years.

They serve Polish citizens, particularly in areas with significant shortages, such as emergency departments, night and holiday medical care, internal medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, anesthesiology, intensive care, and family medicine.

They are employed in district hospitals and in regions of Poland with the lowest access to healthcare services due to a lack of medical personnel, such as Podkarpacie, eastern Lublin, and Lubuskie province.

This program has helped address critical staffing shortages and could be instrumental in improving healthcare access in underserved areas even after October 24th.
