Strong Q3 for Bloober Team: Subsidiaries Shine and Profit Soars by 183%

The net profit of Bloober Team Capital Group has increased by 15.6 million PLN after the first three quarters of this year, a 183% increase compared to the same period last year. The third-quarter results do not include the impact of the SILENT HILL 2 premiere, which took place on October 8. The subsidiaries, Played With Fire LLC and Feardemic LLC, have also been doing outstandingly well.

With sales revenues at the level of 66.25 million PLN, Bloober Team Capital Group recorded over 16.6 million PLN of operating profit (growth by 133%) in the first three quarters of 2024. In the third quarter itself, the group’s operating result was 1.83 million PLN compared to 0.17 million PLN in the same period last year, and the net profit was 1.1 million PLN (0.7 million PLN in Q3 2023). The group’s cash resources amounted to 32 million PLN at the end of the past quarter. “For any company, especially in such a tough industry like ours, one of the most important things is financial stability. We are delighted not only with Bloober Team S.A.’s excellent market position but the rising revenues of our subsidiaries. Time verifies everything. We have long reiterated that the strategy of specialisation and building foundations for healthy business in the longer term will yield better results than a broad games market. Looking at the global success of SILENT HILL 2 and the company’s portfolio for the coming year and further, I am totally calm,” emphasises Piotr Babieno, Chairman of Bloober Team.

The good performance of the Capital Group is also a consequence of the positive outcomes of the subsidiaries Feardemic LLC and Played With Fire LLC.

“2024 is an unequivocally record-breaking year for Feardemic. The number of premieres increased; we started cooperation on games in VR and mobile versions, developed relationships with physical distributors. We have behind us crucial premieres of games in the Garten of Banban series. Revenues from sales compared to the previous year have almost tripled, and net profit amounted to approximately 1.8 million PLN. This is a huge leap in the company’s development,” summarizes Damian Pawlak, CEO of Feardemic.

“The past year has been a time of intense development for our company, which strengthened our position in the VR market. We tripled our team, including valued VR specialists. We implemented new technologies into the company’s processes and are successfully developing several projects simultaneously, including a title based on a known international IP and a game prototype funded by the Creative Europe grant. Our products have launched on new platforms, including Sony PSVR2, achieving yet another historical milestone – the first boxed release of our game. Stable income and net profit at the level of 0.6 million PLN, the realisation of current projects, and a significantly strengthened team, bring very interesting perspectives for the company,” comments Bartłomiej Szydło, CEO of Played With Fire.

Remember, the sale of SILENT HILL 2 exceeded 1 million copies within three days. Average ratings and reviews on different platforms confirm the game’s success. On Steam, 95% of nearly 19 thousand reviews were positive, earning it an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ rating. On PlayStation 5, users gave an average rating of 4.87 out of 5, also based on almost 18 thousand opinions. On Metacritic, reviewer ratings were 86 on PS5 and 87 on PC, and gamer scores were 9.2 for PS5 and 8.9 for PC. Important industry media, such as IGN Japan or Eurogamer, rated the game at a maximum of 10/10, which further highlights its high quality. Bloober Team has also announced the premiere of their biggest production so far for next year, “Cronos: The New Dawn”, previously known as “Project C,” which is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S platforms.
