ENERGYORLEN Signs Major Gas Supply Agreement with Slovakia's ZSE Energia

ORLEN, through its subsidiary PGNiG Supply & Trading, has signed an agreement with the Slovak company ZSE Energia for the sale of gas, the volume of which will cover approximately 30% of ZSE Energia’s annual demand. The contract exemplifies the growing cooperation between companies in Central and Eastern Europe to diversify supplies and strengthen gas security in the region.

The agreement between ORLEN Group and ZSE Energia, part of the ZSE Group, provides for the supply of natural gas from January until the end of 2025. The raw material, sourced partly from the USA, will be delivered in liquefied form to an LNG terminal where the ORLEN Group has a long-term capacity reservation. From there, after regasification, the gas will be sent via the Poland-Lithuania pipeline to the Polish gas system and further transported to Slovakia using the Vyrava interconnector.

This will be the first instance of a Slovak company importing natural gas from the northern direction. The volume of the contract corresponds to approximately one-third of the annual demand of ZSE Group’s customers, which is the second-largest gas supplier in Slovakia.

The conclusion of the contract between the companies would not have been possible without the new intersystem gas connections established in recent years, linking Poland with other countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic region. These connections enable the ORLEN Group to sell fuel to domestic and international customers based on a diversified gas procurement portfolio.

The gas price in the contract will be determined in a market-based manner.
