According to the latest Netbank report prepared by the Association of Polish Banks, an increasing number of customers are using internet banking, as well as mobile banking. Over 43.5 million customers in Poland use online banking, which means they have active contracts. Meanwhile, 23.2 million actively use online banking, logging into their account at least once a month and carrying out transactions. The number of customers using mobile banking is also rising, already reaching nearly 23 million. The Polish banking sector is also distinguished by a large number of customers who exclusively use mobile banking. The number of ‘mobile-only’ customers has already exceeded 16.5 million and is rapidly increasing.
“Customers are increasingly conducting their operations using only the phone and appreciate the high functionality of mobile applications, the new products, as well as the security that this banking provides,” Włodzimierz Kiciński, the vice president of the Association of Polish Banks, told eNewsroom.pl. “These are elements of convenience and functionality – thus distinguishing the majority of active customers in banks. We are also pleased to note a growing number of small and medium-sized enterprises using online banking. Their number exceeds 2.5 million – so these small entities are also modern in their contact with banks and other economic entities. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that we are supported by the National Clearing Chamber, which handles these payments. Therefore, the Elixir, Express Elixir, and Euro Elixir systems are being used more widely in our economic life – accelerating economic turnover and thus contributing to the growth of Gross Domestic Product. In banking, we believe it’s worth conducting transactions in a fast, safe, and expanded functionality mode,” says Włodzimierz Kiciński.
