Komputronik Group Reports Stable Financial Growth in FQ1 2024

COMPANIESKomputronik Group Reports Stable Financial Growth in FQ1 2024

Komputronik Group’s sales revenues for the period from April 1 to June 30, 2024, amounted to PLN 383 453,000 (an increase of 2.3%). The Group achieved a profit from sales of PLN 46.2 million in FQ1 2024 (an increase of 1.4%). Thanks to slightly reduced sales and general administrative costs, the Group generated a profit of PLN 2.1 million EBITDA. The Management Board of Komputronik Group assesses the situation as stable, hoping for even better financial results in the coming months.

The Board’s assessment of the current situation and prospects for the Komputronik Group are stable, indicating a capability for profit generation in the near future. The improving market situation is influenced by the strong Polish currency and rebounding demand – both from individual customers and institutions.

Komputronik Group assesses its financial situation as stable

Despite unit cost increases (including a nearly 20% increase in the minimum wage in January 2024), actions taken by the Board meant that the Komputronik Group achieved higher sales revenues by 2.3% compared to the previous year, while sales and general administrative costs were 0.6% lower than last year.

– The GDP growth dynamics and good economic development prospects of Poland, inflow of funds from the KPO, growing role of corporate social responsibility, technology development, and artificial intelligence should positively impact the improvement of the electronics market and additional services – comments Wojciech Buczkowski, Chairman of the Board of Komputronik S.A.

Increase in GDP dynamics and good economic growth prospects

The dynamics of the Polish GDP surprisingly accelerated in Q2 2024 to 3.2% YoY from 2% in Q1. This is a result above forecasts.

– Consumer sentiment is improving. This is making companies also increase investments in equipment, specialist software and IT services. The use of EU funds leads to demand from the public sector. The GDP growth rate is also increasing. Additionally, we still have a relatively low, compared to other EU countries, saturation of home computer equipment. All these factors should positively influence sales this year – explains Wojciech Buczkowski. An important element is the spread of AI-powered programs which due to high hardware requirements drive the replacement of older devices with new ones, enabling work with AI.

Laptops, smartphones, and PCs represented the most significant share in Komputronik Group’s Q1 2024 sales.

Significant product groups also included peripherals (printers, monitors, projectors), components for upgrading and DIY computer assembly, and computer and office accessories (inks and toners). In the business segment, the importance of comprehensive services is increasing – IT outsourcing, print outsourcing, security-related projects and software implementation, as well as delivery of server products and data storage solutions for rapidly growing data volumes.

We continue to focus on strategic product categories, such as laptops and PCs, mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, watches), components, peripherals, networking equipment, smart home solutions, software, and RTV and home appliances. We target our individual and corporate clients with personalized promotional campaigns, discount programs, and complement the entire offer with a set of complementary services. All activities are backed by advanced media analytics and systematic sales monitoring – explains Wojciech Buczkowski, Chairman of the Board of Komputronik S.A.

Sale of gaming PCs and laptops for teachers

– We see higher demand from individual customers, especially in the PC segment – including gaming computers, devices for intelligent homes and offices, as well as in the IT outsourcing services segment for Komputronik Business services. We also hope for a continued success of the “voucher for the teacher” program, which expires on December 31, 2025, with tens of thousands of vouchers yet to be redeemed by teachers – adds Buczkowski.

Komputronik counts on further growth in PC sales. In recent years, consumers focused primarily on portable devices, but after the strong, pandemic years of 2020 and 2021, there was a flattening of the number of laptops sold in Poland. Increases driven by the sudden need to switch to remote work came to an end. In the PC desktop segment, the situation is different. PCs were once seen mostly as gaming computers, but they are also more powerful and comfortable devices for daily work compared to laptops or tablets with small screens. Furthermore, due to high performance, they can be used for smooth work with artificial intelligence.

– Recently, the Polish market absorbed over 1.5 million portable computers, which is 100 thousand less than a year before. The situation looks more optimistic in the stationary computers market. We estimate that the number of devices delivered will be around 380 thousand units, which is almost 30% more than the previous year. In Komputronik, we offer models of almost all leading global brands. In addition, we also develop our brand, which is very attractively priced, offering the most efficient machines. For years, we have been a leading local manufacturer of desktop computers, with over 25 years of experience in designing and production – says Wojciech Buczkowski.

Further omnichannel development

The company has been operating in an omnichannel model for years. Looking from the perspective of a client, we provide various sales channels, ensuring a uniform experience and maximum benefits and advice, deeply embedded in the company’s DNA. We steadily grow in strength and develop the Komputronik.pl website, implement new tools to facilitate customer choice and purchases, and invest in the development of online advisory centers. The situation of stationary stores is also stable, with visitor numbers a few percent higher than they were the previous year. With improved effectiveness and product-service cross-selling, this enables the Group to generate steady sales growth – informs Wojciech Buczkowski.
