- From day one, Amazon employees receive access to a broad benefits package, including private healthcare and life insurance.
Amazon is preparing for the holiday period in its logistics centers and is initiating seasonal recruitment. From October 1, all entry-level workers, including seasonal ones, are set to receive a new, higher pay rate and benefits from the first day of work.
From October 1, 2024, the hourly rate for entry-level (permanent and seasonal) workers will increase by 13.5 percent compared to 2023, amounting to 33.92 PLN gross per hour, including an attendance bonus. The company also offers an attractive benefits package: private medical care, life insurance, free transportation to work along selected routes, and hot meals for 1 PLN.
By 2022, the company’s investments had generated over 15 billion PLN in local wages[1]. In 2022, full-time employees employed at Amazon in operational positions received a total of 1.4 billion PLN in wages, with an average wage amounting to 74 328.10 PLN[2]. This year’s wage increase represents a total investment in the Polish team of 59.7 million USD (236.4 million PLN) and is the highest such investment in the country to date.
– The employees of Amazon operations centers are part of the success of our company, which is why we regularly analyze our wages to ensure they remain competitive. From October 1, 2024, we are raising the entry-level rate by 13.5 percent compared to the previous year. – comments Slawomir Plonka, Director of Amazon Operations in the CEE region and adds: The recruitment for entry-level positions is aimed at a wide spectrum of people. We do not require previous qualifications, which provides employment opportunities for both those who are just stepping onto the job market and those with more professional experience, seeking new challenges.
– The holiday period is a very satisfying time to work at Amazon. I am very pleased to contribute to the fast and efficient order processing, ensuring that all purchases, including gifts, reach customers on time. The raise in pay during this busy period is a nice bonus, and my friends and family often ask me how they can join the Amazon team, both as seasonal workers and permanently. – adds Katarzyna Laszczyk, the Assistant Manager of the logistics center in Pawlikowice near Lodz, who has been working at Amazon for 5 years.
Candidates for entry-level positions do not need to have experience – the offer is designed to meet the needs of people beginning their professional careers or planning a change of industry. All entry-level workers have access to a wide sphere of training – from the first day of work, they can start learning English within the framework of the ten-year flagship program “Invest in Your Development”.
– In the Polish labor market, we observe an exceptionally low level of unemployment. The unemployment rate remained at 5 percent in August. This presents increasing challenges for employers in attracting job candidates. Seasonal, pre-holiday jobs are also concerned. For employers, it means the necessity to provide attractive cooperation conditions. On the side of those undertaking seasonal jobs, it is crucial to establish cooperation with reliable, experienced employers, ensuring guaranteed safe cooperation conditions. – Robert Lisicki, Director of the Labor Department, Confederation of Leviathan.
