Poland’s July Inflation Hits 4.2%, Peak Expected Next Year

ECONOMYPoland's July Inflation Hits 4.2%, Peak Expected Next Year

The final inflation reading in July 2024 stood at 4.2 percent on a year-on-year basis. This price increase was primarily due to the partial unfreezing of energy costs starting from July 1.

The current data reinforces the belief that the pace of price increase until the end of the year will be slower than previously forecasted, and the peak level should be achieved at the beginning of next year.

The peak inflation level will largely depend on the safeguard measures implemented for 2025. Around that time, discussions about interest rate cuts will also pick up depending on the pace of inflation decline.
