Transition Technologies MS with Another Contract in the Defense Sector

COMPANIESTransition Technologies MS with Another Contract in the Defense Sector

Transition Technologies MS (TTMS), a Polish software house that will soon begin a public offering of its shares, will implement a project for the NATO Standardization Office (NSO) together with its sister company, Transition Technologies Software, and BREVCO Services. The contract is valued at 0.9 million EUR.

As part of the project for the NATO agency NSO, a new system will be created to generate, manage, and disseminate terminology related to military terms. TTMS, along with TT Software, will have overall responsibility for the active implementation of the IT solution. The new system will develop precise definitions of specialized concepts and technical terminology related to the military, and appropriately manage terminology so that all NATO military units can use the same, standardized concepts and have access to them. This will ensure that communication, procedures, and operations can follow the same set of standards and definitions.

“This will be our next implementation in the defense sector, where we already have experience in, among other things, implementing technology to search for anomalies in cyberspace, helping decision-making in air defense or coordinating actions on the battlefield. The aim of the system we will create is to facilitate communication within NATO so that all members of the pact, its agencies, and units, using terms related to the military, know exactly what they mean. In the case of acronyms, our system will ensure their standardization, which will be stored and updated regularly in the NATO terminology database,” says Sebastian Sokołowski, CEO of TTMS.

This new project is the 11th contract in the defense sector in the TTMS portfolio since the company’s establishment.

“In previous projects, we mainly implemented C4ISR systems (support in the areas of command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance), including for companies in the Polish armament sector, land forces, and air defense. We continue to provide maintenance and development services for some of these contracts. The latest project will be implemented over a year and a half and is the first stage of a larger endeavor which NATO plans for the coming years,” adds CEO of TTMS.

In future stages of the project, it is planned to build semantic models and ontology of names and abbreviations, which will serve to create a foundation for teaching AI algorithms. The aim is to support, in further stages, the creation of autonomous combat systems (a model recognizing concepts and symbols will be used to standardize communication not only in human-human relations but also in human-machine and machine-machine relations).
