Transition Technologies MS (TTMS), a dynamically developing Polish software house, has received a license from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration (MSWiA) to process dual-use goods. The company will be able to apply for more specialized orders in the area of using modern technologies in the defense sector.
– For many years, our employees have been actively participating in defense sector projects, implementing innovative technologies, among others, within the framework of NATO Allied Command Transformation. The defense sector is particularly promising for us, mainly because of the increasing demand for modern IT technologies, but also because of the high entry barrier for contractors and subcontractors applying for orders. The renewal of our license gives us possibilities for further development in this area. We are also one of the few IT companies in Poland with such a broad competence in creating and developing IT systems for the military, having the appropriate certificates enabling applications for orders and experts authorized to work on such projects. Our experts have many years of experience in implementing solutions for the defence sector. All this allows us to secure contracts for armament companies and NATO, which are out of reach for most companies offering IT services – says Sebastian Sokołowski, President of TTMS.
The license for trade and turnover of explosives, weapons, ammunition and military or police technology is granted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. It is granted for a maximum of 50 years. TTMS’s previous license granted by the ministry expired due to the change of the company’s headquarters.
– Contracts in the defense sector are long-term. The implementation of modern technologies for military purposes is also associated with service activities. This means that specialists are involved in a given project for many years. These are people who must have personal identification and security certificates, enabling them to access classified information. With experience on these types of projects and appropriate certifications, IT specialists can quickly implement into a given project. Currently, artificial intelligence leads the way among technologies used in military projects, which can be used for example to search for anomalies in cyberspace, support decision-making in the field of air defense or coordinate actions on the battlefield and provide partial autonomy of vehicles to relieve the crews of combat platforms. There are many possibilities for using different IT solutions, and we research them and adopt them for the needs of the defense sector – adds Sebastian Sokołowski.
TTMS’s order portfolio since the beginning of its operations in the defense sector includes 10 contracts.
