On August 9, 2024, Scanway S.A. entered a letter of intent with Flytronic S.A, a leading Polish entity in the production of unmanned platforms and a subsidiary of WB Group. The purpose of the collaboration is the development of specialized optoelectronic solutions. The agreement also provides for cooperation in the area of training and mutual education in this field. Following the PIAST space project, carried out for the Polish Ministry of National Defense (MON) in cooperation with, among others, the Polish Technical Academy, this is another initiative of Scanway aimed at increasing its presence in the promising defense sector.

“Cooperation with Flytronic from the WB Group is particularly important because it opens our company to a new market related to defense products. We believe that the signed letter of intent with such an experienced company in the defense sector will allow for the development of high-quality products. As Scanway, from the beginning of our activity, we wanted to create useful, practical, and necessary technologies, and today, in these particular times, the development of national competences and technologies allowing for gaining an advantage in the arena of armed conflicts is important. We want our cooperation to translate into products that can strengthen native and allied troops and increase the competitiveness of the Polish defense sector on the international arena. In the letter of intent concluded by Flytronic and Scanway, several forms of cooperation in the field of optoelectronic system development were mentioned.
