PTWP Group presents its first financial results after moving its shares to GPW’s main market. In the second quarter of this year, PTWP Group achieved record revenues of PLN 38.5 million, representing an increase of 30.4% compared to the same period in 2023. The publisher of industry services and organizer of business events generated PLN 7 million in net profit during the period under review, 7.4% more than a year earlier. In total, in the first half of the year, the Group’s revenues exceeded PLN 60 million, and net profit amounted to PLN 5.7 million. The cash balance increased to almost PLN 27 million. The organization of proprietary events and investments made in previous periods had a significant impact on the good financial results. In addition, PTWP Group continues to strengthen its position in the publishing market, ranking in the top 3 business media in Poland.
“The presented results are the result of a consistently implemented development strategy that we chose years ago. In the first quarter we incurred significant costs and made key investments, which resulted in a negative result. However, we knew that our actions would bring the desired effects, as evidenced by the record revenues in the second quarter and the operating and net profit, which more than covered previous investments. We continue our dynamic growth path of the PTWP Group,” said Wojciech Kuśpik, President of the PTWP Group.
In the second quarter of this year, PTWP Group generated revenues of PLN 38.5 million, which were higher by 30.4% compared to the same period in 2023 (PLN 29.5 million). The Group generated PLN 8.7 million in operating profit, which represents an increase of over 14% year on year. Ultimately, in the period from April to June this year, the Group reported PLN 7 million in net profit.
The excellent results of the second quarter translated into the presented first half-year results. In the first six months of this year, the Group had over PLN 60 million in revenues (+21.8% year-on-year). The high level of revenues translated into PLN 7 million in operating profit and PLN 5.7 million in net profit. PTWP Group remains in very good financial condition – at the end of June this year it had PLN 26.8 million in cash and cash equivalents. PTWP Group achieved such good results despite an increase in costs related to investments and the cost of a one-off event, which was write-offs.
PTWP Group develops its activity in the publishing segment, organization of proprietary events and management of facilities – Spodek and the International Congress Center in Katowice. The Group’s publishing portfolio consists of 18 portals, which attract an average of about 20 million unique users per month, placing PTWP among the three largest business media in Poland.
From January to June this year, PTWP Group organized several proprietary events, which together attracted nearly 50,000 participants online and offline. The 16th European Economic Congress recorded the highest attendance (12,000 participants online and 5,000 people following the course of debates on the internet). PTWP Group has planned further proprietary events for the end of the year, such as Precop, Energy Days, Toolex, Expowelding, New Industry 4.0, Health Market Forum, Food and Trade Market Forum and National Challenges in Agriculture. Meanwhile, the facilities managed by the Group: Spodek and the International Congress Center in Katowice consistently record high occupancy levels for various format events.
“Our proprietary events have attracted great interest from participants and business partners, recording record attendance results. We have more important events ahead of us, for which we are excellently prepared. We have been in the market for many years and we have a great sense of trends, which translates into building a stable business of our segments. We are also analyzing the market in terms of potential acquisitions and I hope that we will soon complete the processes and be able to inform the market about the transaction. I am confident that our actions will translate into the financial result of the Group at the end of the year,” concluded the President of the PTWP Group.
In the coming years, PTWP Group focuses on the development of the online segment and monetization of traffic on its services. PTWP also maintains plans to launch additional specialist internet portals, which will supplement the Group’s portfolio. Owning a high cash position, PTWP Group still plans for acquisition activities, both in the publishing and event segment.
