“Thanks to many years of experience gained in Lafarge and Holcim Polska, I well understand the industry, the specifics of running a business and the needs of our customers. That is why I am happy that from the start, I could be a part of a great team, thanks to which the company has evolved from a manufacturer of cement, aggregates and concrete to a producer of innovative and sustainable building solutions. I am convinced that with such competent and qualified specialists in our team, we will open a new chapter not only in the company’s history but also in the construction industry in Poland,” said Maciej Sypek, CEO of Holcim Polska.

As he assumes his new position, Maciej Sypek will continue ambitious projects aimed at decarbonization across the entire construction chain and will carry out developmental projects within the framework of the circular economy. Thanks to investments carried out during its 28 years of operation in Poland, initially as Lafarge and now as Holcim Polska, the company has reduced its emissions by nearly 400,000 tonnes of CO2 in the last four years alone.

So far, Holcim Polska has invested over PLN 3.5 billion in the decarbonization of the production process. This year, the largest modernization project, worth about PLN 1 billion, of the Małogoszcz Cement Plant, with the strategic objective of reducing emissions by increasing the plant’s energy efficiency, will be completed. Simultaneously, in just 4 years, the Kujawy Cement Plant will become one of the first zero-emission cement plants in Europe thanks to an investment in CO2 capture technology. Through the Go4ECOPlanet project, Holcim Polska will produce the first completely zero-emission cement in Poland.
