The key factors driving the acquisition of Nefeni by the Symfonia Group include synergy, innovation, and a shared vision of the future. This collaboration strengthens Symfonia’s position in the public administration sector while opening new development opportunities and scaling support for Nefeni. How will this partnership influence the future of digital transformation in Poland? We discuss this with representatives of both companies – Piotr Ciski, CEO of the Symfonia Group, and Sławomir Hemerling-Kowalczyk, CEO of Nefeni. They reveal the details of their cooperation, discuss the benefits of their integration, share future plans, and explore the challenges facing Poland’s technology market.
What were the key factors behind the acquisition of Nefeni? What caught your interest in this company’s activities?
P: The crucial factor was the synergy between Symfonia Group’s offerings and Nefeni’s expertise in the public administration sector. Nefeni has developed innovative tools that effectively address the needs of this market segment. What particularly intrigued us was their experience working with municipalities and public institutions, as well as the development of advanced software, such as the “Modern Office” platform. Together, we can provide more comprehensive solutions for both the public sector and SMEs.
S: For us, the key was the shared vision of development. Symfonia brings extensive knowledge and experience in SME digitalization, while Nefeni leads in innovations for public administration. Combining these two realms allows us to create solutions with even greater social and business impact.
What does the collaboration model between the two companies look like? Has Nefeni been fully integrated into Symfonia, like Cloud Planet and eDokumenty?
S: For now, we don’t plan full integration. We maintain operational independence.
P: There’s no need to change something that works well. Nefeni is excellently managed by Sławek and Tomek, and I’m thrilled the company is in such capable hands.
What are the main benefits for Nefeni and other companies joining the Symfonia Group?
P: Being part of the Symfonia Group offers greater development opportunities, diversification of offerings, and access to unique knowledge and technologies. Our collaboration with Nefeni enhances our position in the public sector while providing companies joining our group the chance to work with a leader in digitalization.
S: Nefeni gains access to Symfonia’s broad customer base and technologies that expand our capabilities. For other companies, the primary benefits include financial stability, expert support, and the ability to scale operations on a larger scale.
How does the acquisition affect the company’s long-term financial stability?
P: We understand that such changes can cause concerns, but we aim to ensure every employee feels secure and sees the benefits of this partnership. Employees’ knowledge and engagement remain crucial for Symfonia Group’s future. Joining forces with Nefeni allows us to work in a more stable and growth-oriented environment.
S: Initially, we were concerned about how our clients would react to this acquisition. However, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Financially, the merger with Symfonia opens new opportunities and unlocks our development potential.
What does the acquisition mean for the clients and partners of the Symfonia Group?
P: The integration of both companies enables us to strengthen Symfonia’s presence in the public sector, which is already a significant part of our operations. With complementary products and a shared goal of providing technological support for SMEs and public administration, we can contribute to meaningful progress in digitalization.
Clients and partners of Symfonia will experience positive changes resulting from the Nefeni acquisition. With access to greater expertise and technologies, we’ll offer even better support and innovative solutions.
S: For Nefeni, this is a chance for rapid growth. Combining Nefeni’s expertise with Symfonia’s knowledge of SME needs allows us to respond more comprehensively to the growing digitalization demands in the public sector.
In what areas does Nefeni remain independent? What can the company decide on its own, and which areas are unified?
P: Nefeni retains autonomy in operational management and project implementation in the public sector. However, long-term strategy and technological integration are coordinated jointly to ensure synergy.
S: We have full independence in decisions regarding our clients and projects, but we collaborate with the Symfonia team on strategic matters. It’s an ideal balance between independence and the support of a large organization.
What are the main goals of the Symfonia Group concerning market development and digitalization in Poland? Are there specific acquisition targets for 2025?
P: Our goal is to continue supporting the digitalization of SMEs and public administration in Poland. We aim to lead with technologies that transform these sectors’ operations. While we don’t rule out further acquisitions in 2025, our primary focus is on deepening cooperation with existing entities and introducing innovations to the market.
What key challenges do you identify in digitalization in Poland, and how do you plan to address them to meet customer expectations?
P: The challenges primarily involve three areas: insufficient digital infrastructure in smaller towns, inadequate education in advanced digital tools, and administrative/legal procedures that lag behind technological advancements. Through Symfonia Academy, we invest in digital education for clients and partners, helping them adopt our solutions effectively. Symfonia Foundation aims to increase women’s participation in digitalization, enhancing their IT skills. Additionally, we’re developing intuitive products tailored to the needs of SMEs and public administration.
S: For Nefeni, the main challenge is accelerating the pace of digitalization in public administration. Our tools aim to enable a smooth transition from traditional processes to fully digital ones. To achieve this, we’re developing systems that are easy to integrate with existing platforms while assisting clients through the transformation process.
What are your predictions for the future of digitalization in Poland, and how do you intend to shape it?
P: We anticipate rapid acceleration in digitalization over the next decade, particularly in public administration and SMEs. Collaboration between the private and public sectors is key to success. Symfonia seeks to actively participate in this transformation by offering technologically advanced yet easy-to-implement solutions. Our goal is not just to respond to market needs but also to shape them through innovation.
S: We envision a dynamic future for digitalization in Poland, focusing on automation, system integration, and data analytics. Nefeni aims to contribute to building a digital public administration by offering tools that revolutionize local government management. Together with Symfonia, we aim to create solutions that serve as the foundation for Poland’s digital transformation.
