Kernel Holding S.A. announced that its largest oilseed processing plant in western Ukraine has been damaged as a result of a recent drone attack conducted by Russia. As a result of this incident, operations at the plant have been suspended.
The fire, which broke out as a result of the attack, was quickly extinguished. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. Currently, the company is conducting a detailed assessment of the extent of the damage and associated losses.
Kernel Holding S.A. emphasizes that the safety of its workers is a priority and they will take all necessary steps to protect their plants from future threats.
As a result of the attack, there may be a temporary reduction in sunflower oil production, which may impact the market for this product in both Ukraine and international markets. The company reports that it will continuously provide updates on the progress of the plant’s repairs and plans for resuming operations.
