SECURITYCyber Attack Hits Ochnik and New Balance Poland, Exposing Confidential Customer and Employee Data

In recent days, a cyber attack has targeted the company, Ochnik, among the leading Polish clothing brands, and the Polish representative of New Balance, pickypica.com, and StreetStyle24. The hackers attacked the infrastructure of the technology partner, stealing confidential data of both customers and employees. This incident is one of the recurring examples of attacks on Polish companies, which in the beginning of September were attacked on average 1600 times per week, according to data from Check Point Software.

According to preliminary information, the attackers obtained details such as names, surnames, email addresses, phone numbers, and order-related data. The company is currently working with relevant services to minimize the impact of the attack and secure further data from potential leaks.

Company representatives assure that actions were immediately taken to curb the spread of damage and secure the IT infrastructure. The company also informed its customers about the potential risk and urges them to be vigilant and possibly change passwords.

This cyber attack underlines the escalating threats to companies in the retail industry and the need to strengthen personal data protection systems.

The latest analysis from Check Point Software reveals that the retail sector (wholesale and detail) is one of the ten most frequently attacked economic sectors, with an average of 1670 attacks per organization per week worldwide. Polish companies are attacked just as frequently – in recent weeks there have been 1515 to 1630 cyber attacks on individual companies.
