COMPANIESCBSP enters the headquarters of Cinkciarz.pl - investigation supervised by the Regional Prosecutor's Office

On Monday, officers of the Central Investigation Bureau of Police (CBŚP) and cybercrime specialists conducted operations at the headquarters of Cinkciarz.pl, a company located in Zielona Góra. These actions were enacted upon the order of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Poznan. This information was confirmed to the Polish Press Agency (PAP) by Deputy Commissioner Krzysztof Wrześniowski, the spokesperson for the commander of the CBŚP.

The spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Poznan, Prosecutor Anna Marszalek, explained the proceedings were initiated at the beginning of October following a notification from the Financial Supervision Commission (KNF). Initially, the KNF notification was directed to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zielona Góra and concerned violations of the Accounting Act in relation to the operation of the online currency exchange system.

The District Prosecutor’s Office transferred the case to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Poznan, which also received a second notification from the KNF, concerning suspicions of fraud in the Cinkciarz.pl currency exchange system. Due to the connection between the cases and the same economic entities under investigation, both proceedings were merged and are now being conducted under one file number.

At this point, the prosecutor’s office is not disclosing specific information regarding the investigation. It’s worth mentioning that Cinkciarz.pl is one of the largest Polish companies dealing with online currency exchange, and the actions of the services may cause concern among the company’s clients and business partners.
