COMPANIESBio Planet ends the first half year with growth and ambitious plans

The first half of 2024 brought another set of good results for Bio Planet. The largest supplier of organic food in Poland reported revenues of PLN 140.2 million, an 8% increase compared to 2023, when revenues were PLN 129.7 million. The company’s continuously improving results are due to the decision made at the end of 2022 to consolidate the market and acquire part of the assets of two companies – NaturaVena and Smak Natury. Consistent with these actions and another factor that contributed to improved results was the introduction of new attractive products. In the coming months, the company plans to focus on improving profitability. According to Bio Planet, the chosen path will ensure stability and room for further growth.

“The good sales results we achieved in the first half are the result of a long-term market consolidation strategy that we have been implementing since 2022, as well as significant financial steps. The most important decision we made at the beginning of 2024 was to sign an agreement with Santander Bank Polska S.A. for a loan that was used to pay off 3 investment loans earlier. The consolidation is aimed at optimizing loan installments and achieving better financial results for the company,” – says Sylwester Strużyna, CEO of Bio Planet S.A.

In order to improve the warehouse cost-efficiency, the company decided to optimize the product offer. The number of products was reduced to the target level of around 7,000 top products, mainly eliminating repeat and low-rotation products. At the same time, new products were introduced, mostly from providers who have been partnering with Bio Planet for years, such as: Alce Nero, Bartolini, Holle, Horizon, Lebensbaum or Pięć Przemian. The company also introduced 20 items under its own brands: 8 products under the Bio Planet brand, 10 products under the NaturaVena brand, and 2 products under the Biominki brand.

“The first half and the good results that we have achieved give us the impetus for further, robust investments. In the coming months, we want to focus on improving profitability and financial liquidity of the company, in particular through gradual automation of labor-intensive administrative tasks. We plan to resume the construction of a packaging plant at the beginning of 2026, so that the entire investment is completed by the end of 2026. The completion of the plant with a total area of around 5,000 m2 will allow us to significantly increase our processing capacities and significantly reduce unit packaging costs,” said the President of Bio Planet.

An important factor influencing the results achieved by the company is the low EUR exchange rate in the first half of 2024. Maintaining the currency at levels similar to the current ones will have a positive impact on the company’s future results due to the large number of goods and raw materials purchased by the company abroad.

Bio Planet S.A. is a leader among organic food suppliers in Poland. The company’s activities focus on packaging and distribution of organic food. It offers about 7,000 sales indices covering durable and fresh products. Since 2007, Bio Planet S.A. products have an AGRO BIO TEST certificate, which is the basis for classifying the food offered by the company as organic food.
