From the new year, we anticipate an increase in the minimum wage to 4.7k zł gross and the minimum hourly wage to 30.50 zł gross. According to data from No Fluff Jobs, currently, those working on contracts of employment in customer service come close to this figure, where the lowest offered hourly wage averages at 37 zł gross. For those working on B2B contracts, this applies to office administration, where wages start on average from 39 zł net (+ VAT) per hour. In both cases, the highest average rates can be found in the IT category – 92-128 zł gross under contracts of employment and 113-147 zł net (+ VAT) on B2B.
From January 1, 2025, in Poland, the minimum wage will be raised again, the lowest permissible wage for those employed under contracts of employment. The minimum hourly wage will also increase, applicable in contracts for specific work or regarding the provision of services by natural persons and those running sole proprietorships. The minimum wage will thus rise from 4.3k zł gross to 4.7k zł gross, and the hourly rate from 28.10 zł gross to 30.50 zł gross. According to recent data from the Central Statistical Office, a minimum salary is earned by 1.4 mln workers in Poland, while the latest government estimates put this number even higher at 3.6 mln people.
Lowest Wage Brackets per Hour for Employment Contracts in Customer Service
Based on the latest data from No Fluff Jobs, a Polish job advertisement portal that has facilitated candidates in finding jobs that suit their financial expectations for the past ten years, the wage variation in terms of hourly work offered by employers from various sectors is vast. Among the analysed categories, those working in customer service employed under contract of employment come closest to the new minimum wage – averaging for the offered hourly wages range from 37 to 48 zł gross.
In contrast, for employment on contracts of employment, the wages in the IT industry are at the other end. The candidates can typically expect an hourly rate of around 92-128 zł gross on average. The following are:
– Finance: 57-77 zł gross,
– HR: 48-65 zł gross,
– Automation: 45-65 zł gross,
– Sales and Electrotechnics: 44-64 zł gross,
– Logistics: 44-62 zł gross,
– Mechanics and Marketing: 42-59 zł gross,
– Office Administration: 39-48 zł gross.
The Lowest Hourly Wage Earned in Office Administration on B2B
The situation looks slightly different for wages for people seeking employment on a B2B contract. Here, the IT category also takes first place, where the wage bands for hourly rates average from 113-147 zł net (+ VAT). The following positions are held by:
– Automation: 76-108 zł net (+ VAT)
– Finance: 63-89 zł net (+ VAT)
– Mechanics: 59-84 zł net (+ VAT)
– Electrotechnics: 53-70 zł net (+ VAT)
– Sales: 52-82 zł net (+ VAT)
– HR: 49-69 zł net (+ VAT)
– Logistics: 47-76 zł net (+ VAT)
– Marketing: 44-64 zł net (+ VAT)
– Customer Service: 42-60 zł net (+ VAT),
– Office Administration: 39-53 zł net (+ VAT).
Even though the data shows that even every tenth person in Poland may be earning a minimum wage, it’s entirely possible that the market is overestimated. Sadly, there are still known cases where people are officially employed under contracts of employment for a minimum wage, but unofficially receive additional wages.
