The first quarter of 2025 was highly successful for XTB in terms of client acquisition. The investment platform added over 194,000 new users—a 49.8% year-over-year increase—bringing its total client base to 1.54 million as of the end of March. The number of active clients surged to a record 735,400, up 76.5% from 416,600 a year earlier.

XTB also reported record consolidated revenue of PLN 580.3 million (+4.4% YoY) and a net profit of PLN 193.9 million, down from PLN 302.7 million in Q1 2024, largely due to planned increases in operating expenses, which totaled PLN 315.8 million.

“Q1 2025 was a strong period for expanding our client base and global brand presence, which are top priorities in our development strategy,” said Omar Arnaout, CEO of XTB.
“I’m particularly pleased with the growing number of new clients and their increased investment activity during periods of market volatility. A growing client base is the foundation for our future growth, and we will continue to focus on this.”

Revenue Breakdown and Client Assets

In terms of revenue by instrument class, CFDs based on indices accounted for the largest share in Q1 2025 (52.3%), with the German DAX (DE40) and US indices US 100 and US 500 leading the way. CFDs based on commodities (e.g., natural gas, gold, coffee) were the second-largest group, contributing 29.1%, down from 48.7% a year ago. Revenue from currency-based CFDs stood at 13.5%, down from 23.2%, with EUR/USD pairs and cryptocurrencies like Ripple and Bitcoin being the top performers in this class.

Clients also showed strong interest in stocks and ETPs (including ETFs). Trading volume in these instruments grew by 121.3% YoY to USD 4.1 billion. In EU markets, around 80% of new clients’ first transactions involved stocks or ETPs, or investment plans based on these instruments. XTB clients in the EU executed 11 million transactions on these assets in Q1.

XTB’s interest-bearing deposit offering also remained popular, as reflected in the rapid growth of net deposits, which reached PLN 4.1 billion at the end of March 2025, up 117.6% year-over-year.

Total client assets reached PLN 30.3 billion at the end of Q1 2025, including:

  • PLN 15.5 billion in nominal value of equities and ETPs
  • PLN 4.2 billion in client cash
  • PLN 10.6 billion in nominal value of CFD instruments

Record Growth in Clients and Activity

XTB’s acquisition of 194,300 new clients in Q1 aligned with its quarterly target of 150,000–210,000 new users. This brought the total client count to 1.54 million, up from 1.01 million in Q1 2024. Between April 1–28, 2025, XTB added another 56,400 clients.

The number of active clients rose sharply to 735,400, a 76.5% year-over-year increase.

Product Expansion and Global Reach

XTB plans to further expand its offering in 2025 with products designed for both active and passive investors. New additions in Q1 included:

  • The launch of a PEA (Plan d’Épargne en Actions) account in France for long-term investing
  • Support for ISA account transfers in the UK

The company is also preparing to launch options trading and additional cryptocurrency offerings, pending regulatory approvals.

On the global front, XTB is preparing to:

  • Launch operations in Indonesia in H1 2025
  • Enter the Brazilian market, with licensing currently underway
  • Expand in Chile, where it has already obtained a securities agency license to offer stocks and ETFs
  • Grow its presence in the Middle East, where it recently opened a second office in Dubai

“Our goal is to make XTB the first choice for anyone who wants to make their money work—actively or passively,” added Arnaout.
“Beyond product variety, we understand the importance of a smooth onboarding process and strong customer support. We’re technologically ready to serve a growing number of clients, including in new, promising markets like Latin America and Southeast Asia.”
