In July 2025, the average salary in the enterprise sector increased by 7.6% year-on-year, which was clearly below market forecasts that had anticipated an 8.6% rise. The average gross wage in companies employing at least 10 people, excluding public sector units (administration, education, healthcare, social assistance), amounted to PLN 8,905.63.
According to statements from members of the Monetary Policy Council, strong wage pressure remains one of the main pro-inflationary factors. However, the July reading, significantly lower than expected, may open the door to the beginning of an interest rate-cutting cycle, rather than the single adjustments seen so far. Economists predict that by the end of the year, interest rates could be reduced by a total of around 50 basis points.
