On February 5, 2024, the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) appointed Tomasz Bardziłowski as the President of the GPW Management Board. This decision will take effect on the day the GPW is served with a decision by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) consenting to the change in the composition of the GPW Management Board.
The Extraordinary General Meeting of GPW adopted a resolution on the appointment of Mr. Tomasz Bardziłowski to the position of President of the GPW Management Board. The resolution was passed with a majority of votes at the request of the State Treasury, a shareholder representing 35.01% of the company’s share capital. The decision will become effective on the day the GPW receives a decision from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority approving changes to the composition of the GPW Management Board.
Tomasz Bardziłowski holds a bachelor’s degree from the SGH Department of Finance and Banking and a master’s degree in international finance from the University of Amsterdam. He completed his doctoral studies at the Kozminski University and the Advanced Management Program at the IESE Business School, as well as the Program for Leadership Development at the Harvard Business School. He also studied at the Staffordshire University Business School in the UK and the Wirtschaftsuniversität in Vienna.
Mr Bardziłowski began his professional career in 1997 at the ABN AMRO brokerage house in Warsaw. From 1998-2003, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston as an analyst for the Polish market. Between 2003-2005, he was the Head of the Institutional Sales Department at DM BZ WBK (currently Santander). From 2005-2006, he was the President of CAIB Securities, and from 2006-2010 served as Head of Emerging Europe Equity Research and Head of CEE Equities at UniCredit CAIB.
Subsequently, he was the Managing Director and head of the Polish branch of Credit Suisse Securities from 2010 to 2012. From 2012-2018, he was a Member of the Management Board and Head of the Public Market Department at Vestor Dom Maklerski (formerly DI Investors). Since February 2019, he has been the Managing Director at the Capital Markets Department and an Advisor to the Management Board of IPOPEMA Securities.
Bardziłowski has been recognised multiple times as the best analyst for the CEE market, including in the Institutional Investors ranking, among others. In 2005, he was voted “Analyst of the Year” by the Parkiet paper, and in 2006, he was recognised by the same newspaper as the best stock strategist. He is a stock broker (license number 2110) and holds the title of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), which he obtained in 2000.
