Private APN Became Gateway to Major Cyberattack on Polish Energy Infrastructure

A cyberattack on a Polish district heating plant serving around 50,000 residents exposed a previously unseen route into industrial infrastructure. According to CERT Polska, the attackers moved from compromised renewable-energy infrastructure through a private APN and cellular devices before reaching the plant’s OT network, where they forced industrial controllers into STOP mode and disrupted key technological processes.
