Poland’s GDP growth of 3.5% year on year in the first quarter of 2026 confirms a stable pace of economic expansion, although its structure points to a gradual slowdown in momentum. Domestic demand remains the main pillar of growth, especially consumption, but its pace has clearly weakened compared with the end of 2025.

The marked slowdown in investment and the decline in its share of GDP suggest growing caution among businesses in the face of an uncertain environment. The neutral contribution of net exports means that the economy is currently not benefiting from an external growth impulse.

In the coming quarters, the pace of growth can be expected to remain broadly stable. However, its momentum will depend on a rebound in investment and an improvement in economic conditions in Poland’s external environment.
