At the end of March, the Polish Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (PZWLP) elected its new authorities for the next two-year term. The position of President of the Management Board was assumed by Paweł Piórkowski, who had previously served for many years as a Board Member of PZWLP. The new leadership structure reflects the organisation’s strategic direction, including stronger representation of the commercial vehicle segment and the activities of the newly established Truck Rental Group.
Paweł Piórkowski now heads PZWLP after being associated with the organisation for nearly a decade. He served continuously as a Member of the Management Board from 2017 to 2026. Since 2013, he has also been President of the Management Board of Hertz Polska (Motorent sp. z o.o.), where he is responsible for the development of one of Poland’s leading short-term rental companies.
The five-member Management Board of PZWLP, in addition to the President, now includes Michał Iwanek, CEO of Fraikin Polska; Anna Makarewicz, Member of the Management Board of Leasys Polska; Robert Antczak, General Manager for the Central Europe Region at Arval; and Daniel Trzaskowski, President of the Management Board of Carefleet.
Alongside the election of the Management Board, the PZWLP General Assembly also appointed the Audit Committee for the new term. Its members are Paweł Kostrubiec of MHC Mobility Polska, Grzegorz Fijałkowski of PKO Masterlease and Dariusz Tucharz of mLeasing. The committee will be responsible for supervising the Association’s activities and supporting the implementation of its statutory goals in the years 2026–2028.
The Association expressed its sincere thanks to the outgoing Members of the Management Board, Piotr Wróbel and Tomasz Kapelko, as well as the outgoing Members of the Audit Committee, Marcin Nivette and Hubert Laszczyk, for their commitment, their contribution to the development of PZWLP and their active role in shaping standards in the Polish fleet market.
A new structure and full market representation
This year’s election of PZWLP authorities took place at a special moment, following the expansion of the organisation’s structure to include the truck and specialist vehicle segment and the establishment of the Truck Rental Group. Including a representative of this area in the Management Board marks an important step towards the full representation of all segments of the fleet market.
The current composition of the Management Board reflects the three key pillars of PZWLP’s activities: long-term rental (CFM), Rent a Car, and the rapidly developing commercial vehicle segment, including heavy transport. At the same time, new individuals representing member companies have joined the organisation’s leadership, actively engaging in the work of PZWLP structures and in the development of the industry.
Experience, continuity of management and a fresh perspective
An important feature of the new leadership structure is the preservation of management continuity. Robert Antczak, who served as President of the Management Board for three consecutive terms between 2020 and 2026, remains on the Board as a Member, bringing with him the experience gained during a period of dynamic market change.
Daniel Trzaskowski also continues his work on the Management Board. He has served as a Board Member since 2024, and had previously held the same role from 2014 to 2019. He is recognised as an expert in fleet management and the digitalisation of processes in the automotive industry.
Michał Iwanek, CEO of Fraikin Polska, has joined the PZWLP Management Board as well. He has long been associated with the fleet market, including the van and truck segments, which further strengthens the Association’s competencies in the area of commercial transport.
Anna Makarewicz, Member of the Management Board of Leasys Polska, brings experience in organisational management, human resources and credit risk, supporting the implementation of business strategies in an international environment.
Challenges and priorities for the new term
“The new PZWLP Management Board combines experience, continuity and a fresh perspective resulting from the extension of our activities to include the commercial vehicle segment. Our priority is to further strengthen the role of PZWLP as the common voice of the entire industry — from passenger cars and vans to heavy transport. We want to actively participate in shaping the regulatory environment, developing market standards and supporting the transformation of the sector towards sustainable and modern mobility,” said Paweł Piórkowski, President of the Management Board of PZWLP.
The newly appointed Board will face a number of challenges that define the current stage of the market’s development. These include the continuing transition towards electromobility and alternative powertrains, the further development of the commercial vehicle segment, the digitalisation of fleet services, and the adaptation of the industry to a changing regulatory environment and growing customer expectations.
The Polish Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association was founded in November 2005. This year, the organisation celebrates the 20th anniversary of its presence on the market. Since its establishment, PZWLP has remained the only organisation in Poland bringing together and representing vehicle rental and leasing companies. Ten years ago, the Association broadened its scope to include companies specialising primarily in short-term and medium-term rental, in other words classic car rental operators.
Today, the organisation brings together both major Polish and international long-term rental companies and Rent a Car businesses. In addition, during the Association’s General Assembly in April this year, a decision was made to expand the organisation in the near future to include entities specialising in truck rental. Taking into account all forms of vehicle rental offered by its members, PZWLP companies currently finance and manage a combined fleet of more than 300,000 vehicles and account for around 40% of new company car sales in Poland. As a result, the organisation has a strong and significant impact on the shape, development and condition of the entire automotive sector in the country.
PZWLP currently operates several expert working groups through which it pursues its most important objectives. These include teams focused on marketing and industry communication, legislative monitoring and key tax and legal issues for the sector, the development of electromobility and related infrastructure, the secondary market for post-rental and post-leasing vehicles, as well as the Rent a Car segment and its services. PZWLP is a collective member of the Polish Leasing Association, the Partnership for Road Safety and the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers. Together with the Association of Fleet Managers, it also co-created the first full-scale postgraduate programme in Poland dedicated to fleet management, titled Fleet and Mobility Management, launched in 2017 at the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology.
