The Polish Space Agency (POLSA) has released an update regarding potential fragments of the Falcon 9 rocket discovered in Poland. Following the rocket’s re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere on February 19, 2025, Polish authorities received multiple reports from residents indicating locations where debris might have landed.
False Alarms
Police and fire departments responded to numerous reports, many of which turned out to be false alarms. The reports mainly concerned objects found in ponds across the Greater Poland and Pomeranian Voivodeships. Below is a list of locations where searches were conducted but no rocket fragments were found:
- Konstantynów, Bedlno municipality (Kutno County) – object in a pond, reported on February 18
- Będźmierowice (Chojnice County) – object in a pond, reported on February 19
- Janowiec Wielkopolski (Żnin County) – object in a pond, reported on February 21
- Lutowo (Sępólno County) – object in a pond, reported on February 21
- Czarna Woda (Starogard County) – object in a pond, reported on February 22
- Wólka Orłowska, Izbica municipality (Krasnystaw County) – object in a pond, reported on February 22
- Kobylasz (Liniewo County) – object in a pond, reported on February 21
In each case, the area was thoroughly searched, but no Falcon 9 rocket debris was found.
Discovered Debris
So far, four objects have been found that may be fragments of the rocket. They were located in the following areas:
- Komorniki (February 19) – object fell onto the premises of an electrical equipment warehouse
- Wiry (February 19) – object discovered in a forest
- Śliwno (February 19) – object fell on a field
- Szamotuły (February 21) – object found on the edge of a forest
Next Steps
POLSA remains in contact with relevant authorities and is conducting further analyses of the discovered objects. All recovered fragments will undergo detailed examinations to confirm their origin. The agency urges residents to report any unusual metal objects they may find and to avoid direct contact with potential rocket debris.
