Prices of construction and installation output in Poland increased by 5.5% year on year in June 2026. This was the highest rate of growth recorded in at least 18 months and marked the fourth consecutive month of intensifying price pressure in the construction industry.
Compared with May, prices rose by 0.2%. Specialist construction activities recorded the fastest increase. The figures for June 2026 are preliminary, while the data for May 2026 are final. On a monthly basis, prices increased by 0.3% for specialist construction activities, 0.2% for civil engineering works and 0.1% for building construction.
Price growth accelerates from April and remains at 5.5%
Annual construction price growth increased steadily during the first half of 2026.
After falling to 2.5% in September 2025, the indicator began to accelerate again. It reached 4.0% in January 2026 and has remained at 5.5% year on year since April.
The strongest monthly increases were recorded in March and April 2026, at 1.1% and 1.2% respectively.
This reflected the seasonal resumption of construction activity following the winter period and the passing on to customers of higher material and labour costs incurred at the beginning of the year.
Specialist construction activities record the fastest price growth
Compared with June 2025, prices increased the most in specialist construction activities, rising by 6.5%.
Prices for building construction and civil engineering works both increased by 5.1%.
A similar pattern can be seen in the cumulative figures. Between December 2024 and June 2026, prices for specialist construction activities increased by 7.7%, while building construction and civil engineering works both recorded growth of 6.7%.
Specialist construction activities—including installations, finishing work, electrical work and plumbing—have consistently become more expensive at a faster rate than general building or infrastructure construction.
This is primarily a result of the rising cost of specialised labour, which remains in limited supply across the market.

What the figures mean for the market
For investors and general contractors, the acceleration in construction and installation output prices to 5.5% year on year means increasing cost pressure in project budgets.
The pressure is particularly strong in specialist construction activities, where a shortage of qualified subcontractors has persisted for an extended period.
When combined with June construction output data—showing declining volumes in building construction and growth concentrated mainly in infrastructure—the figures suggest that parts of the industry are facing lower demand and higher project delivery costs at the same time.
This combination may place additional pressure on contractors’ margins, particularly in building construction and specialist works.
