The Polish Bank Association (ZBP) has welcomed the Court of Justice of the European Union’s ruling of 10 September 2026 in case C-510/25 Adazik. According to the association, the judgment confirms that claims between a bank and a consumer may be settled within a single proceeding after a loan agreement is found invalid.

ZBP argues that handling both sides’ settlements in one case could reduce the number of separate court proceedings, lower legal costs and limit procedural uncertainty in disputes involving Swiss-franc mortgages.

The ruling is relevant to the continuing wave of litigation in Poland over foreign-currency mortgage agreements. Its practical impact will depend on how Polish courts apply the CJEU’s guidance in individual cases.
