Data traffic increased by more than 14%
Mobile data traffic increased from 11,243 PB to 12,851.8 PB, an annual rise of about 14.3%. Roaming data use grew even faster, from 155.7 PB to 187.9 PB.
At the same time, traditional messaging continued to lose ground. The number of SMS messages fell from 38.65 billion to 36.79 billion, while MMS volumes declined from 2.42 billion to 2.27 billion.
The number of mobile subscribers remained close to 53.2 million. Post-paid subscriptions increased to 40.3 million, while prepaid cards declined to 12.9 million. Ten years earlier, the two groups were much closer in size.
FTTH now accounts for 62.1% of fixed broadband
Fibre-to-the-home continued to strengthen its position in fixed broadband. FTTH connections increased from 56.1% of the market in 2024 to 62.1% in 2025.
Cable networks fell from 27.3% to 23.7%, while xDSL declined from 10% to 8%. Other technologies accounted for 6.2%.
More than half of fixed broadband customers — 57.5% — used connections with advertised speeds of at least 300 Mbps but below 1 Gbps. Another 15.4% had access at 1 Gbps or more, while only 7.6% remained below 30 Mbps.
The mobile network is still expanding
The number of mobile base stations increased by 1.7%, from 36,683 to 37,315. Other parts of the communications infrastructure moved in different directions: the number of DVB-T2 broadcasting stations fell slightly, while satellite ground stations increased from 186 to 212.
IPTV gains as satellite and cable TV decline
The number of IPTV users increased from 2.15 million to 2.32 million. Satellite television subscriptions fell from 4.63 million to 4.36 million, while cable TV declined from 4.28 million to 3.74 million.
Bundled telecommunications packages continued to grow, reaching around 14.4 million compared with only 5.9 million in 2015. The figures show a market increasingly centred on mobile connectivity, fibre and integrated service packages.
