In autumn, Poland divides into three different tourist realities: city accommodation prices jump due to festivals, conferences and concerts, apartments by the sea become significantly cheaper, while mountain destinations remain heavily booked. Knowing where to book a quick city break — and where it’s better to target a longer trip — can make a big difference to your budget. So how much does a night cost right now?
“September and October brought higher occupancy and longer stays than last year — mainly thanks to favourable weather. The average stay exceeded four days. City breaks are especially popular — weekend bookings account for 15% more stays compared to weekdays. As for average room rates, year-on-year differences are only around a dozen złoty, which means price levels remain almost identical to 2024,” says Paulina Szadkowska, Head of Revenue at Renters.pl.
Business hubs more expensive — driven by events
According to Renters data — based on analysis of over 5,000 apartments across Poland — major cities are seeing a strong rise in demand for short-term rentals, driven by autumn business and cultural events. Occupancy has grown by as much as 12% year-on-year in some locations.
Wrocław, Warsaw, Kraków and Poznań remain the most expensive markets — with festivals, conferences, trade fairs and concerts strongly influencing rates. October saw additional booking peaks linked to major events such as OneRepublic and Flo Rida concerts in Łódź, the Poland–Germany match in Chorzów, and Sting in Kraków. In November, the biggest surge will occur during Poland’s long Independence Day weekend (11 November).
The seaside gets cheaper — mountains remain strong
After the summer season, accommodation on the Baltic coast is now up to 50% cheaper. Occupancy levels have returned to typical off-season levels — yet still solid, with every second apartment occupied in September. In the mountains, price drops have been more modest — around 30% from peak season — but demand is 19% higher than last year, proving that southern Poland attracts tourists year-round.
“Our data shows that mountain trips are usually booked about three weeks in advance, whereas city stays are typically reserved just one week before arrival. For destinations like the Tatras or the Beskids, the optimal moment to book is about one month ahead,” adds Szadkowska.
Apartments with amenities — the winners of the season
Renters also reports growing interest in properties with on-site attractions.
“A good example is a complex in Międzyzdroje, which saw a 10% occupancy increase compared to the local average, thanks to the opening of an aquapark. Poles increasingly choose places offering both comfort and entertainment — this is becoming the new standard for autumn trips. We also see a clear trend toward combining long stays in tourist regions with shorter city getaways. This is useful to keep in mind when planning a holiday,” notes Szadkowska.
