ECONOMYPoland to Receive Over PLN 26 Billion from the National Recovery Plan in Early December

The Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy has announced that Poland will receive more than PLN 26 billion from the fourth and fifth payment requests under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Krajowy Plan Odbudowy, KPO). The funds are expected to be transferred at the beginning of December, following a positive opinion from the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC).

According to the ministry, the European Commission has already issued a preliminary positive assessment of both payment requests and forwarded them to the EFC, which now has four weeks to adopt its position. Once the procedure is complete, the funds will be transferred to Poland.

Investments in Transformation and National Development

The total amount of the two requests exceeds PLN 26 billion (EUR 6.2 billion). These funds will finance key investments across multiple sectors of the economy and public services. The ministry highlighted the following priority areas:

  • thermal modernization of single-family and multi-family buildings,
  • development of nurseries and creation of new childcare facilities,
  • access to high-speed internet in digitally excluded areas,
  • establishment of Sectoral Skills Centers to support modern vocational education,
  • modernization of roads and electricity networks,
  • expansion of the railway system and development of advanced research infrastructure,
  • investments in the healthcare sector, including cardiology and oncology hospitals as well as long-term care facilities.

The Ministry emphasized that these funds will help accelerate the modernization of infrastructure and enhance Poland’s economic competitiveness, while also supporting climate-oriented and social initiatives.

Poland Approaches PLN 100 Billion in Total KPO Funding

To date, Poland has received PLN 67 billion from the first three KPO payment requests:

  • PLN 27 billion was transferred in April 2024,
  • followed by another PLN 40 billion in December 2024.

With the additional PLN 26 billion expected in December 2025, the total funds received under the National Recovery Plan will exceed PLN 93 billion by the end of 2025.
