Poland–Taiwan Trade Reaches Record USD 2.54 Billion

BUSINESSPoland–Taiwan Trade Reaches Record USD 2.54 Billion

Trade between Poland and Taiwan reached a record level of USD 2.54 billion in 2025, rising by more than 22% year on year. However, as the Taiwanese side emphasises, this is only the beginning of a stronger growth trend. Taiwan’s government points out that there is a real chance of surpassing these results in the coming years, driven both by growing demand for advanced technologies and by deepening investment cooperation.

The increase of more than 26% in exports from Taiwan to Poland, together with stable growth in imports from Poland, confirms that trade relations are entering a phase of accelerated expansion. This is one of the reasons why the Taiwanese side has decided to organise “Taiwan Expo 2026 in Europe” in Poland. The event will take place in Warsaw on 22–24 June.

The total volume of trade between Taiwan and Poland amounted to USD 2.54105 billion in 2025, representing an increase of 22.37% compared with 2024. Of this amount, Taiwan’s exports to Poland reached around USD 2.02605 billion, up 26.21%, while imports from Poland amounted to around USD 481 million, an increase of 8.29%.

Economic and trade relations between Poland and Taiwan are developing dynamically. Taiwan is Poland’s seventh-largest trading partner in Asia. Poland exports to Taiwan, among other things, products from the electrical machinery industry, chemical industry and food sector. Imports from Taiwan to Poland include products for the electrical machinery industry, such as LCD panels, semiconductors and other electronic components, as well as metallurgical products, motor vehicles and vehicle parts. Trade between the two sides is characterised by a deficit on the Polish side.

“Supply chain resilience is a key priority in today’s global economy. In recent years, relations between Taiwan and Poland have become increasingly close, opening up new opportunities to deepen cooperation, including through initiatives such as Taiwan Expo 2026 in Europe,” emphasised Kung Ming-hsin, Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs.

More than 40 companies with Taiwanese capital are present in Poland. The Taiwanese side estimates that Taiwanese direct investment in Poland amounts to around USD 100 million and generates approximately 3,000 jobs.

From a macroeconomic perspective, the development of these relations is part of a broader process of reshaping global supply chains and diversifying trade directions in Europe. Poland, as the largest economy in Central and Eastern Europe, is benefiting from the relocation of production and the growing importance of the region as an industrial base for the European Union.

Taiwan, in turn, is strengthening its presence in Europe in response to demand for electronic components, ICT solutions and technologies supporting the energy and digital transitions.

Foreign direct investment remains an important growth factor, strengthening local industrial ecosystems and technology transfer. Taiwanese companies are developing their operations in Poland not only in the distribution and servicing of ICT products, but increasingly also in manufacturing and advanced services. New projects — covering areas such as automotive electronics, the food industry and industrial materials — point to Poland’s growing role as an operational centre for the region.

The growing scale of cooperation is reflected in plans for further partnerships and business initiatives. Poland attracts investors with its stable macroeconomic environment, access to a skilled workforce and strategic location within the EU single market. These were the factors that determined the choice of Poland as the host of the second edition of Taiwan Expo 2026 in Europe — an event expected to further strengthen economic relations and open up new opportunities for business.
