Public electric-vehicle charging became more expensive in Poland in September as several operators moved back to standard tariffs after summer promotions. The average price is now PLN 1.99/kWh for AC charging, PLN 2.55/kWh for DC below 150 kW and PLN 2.70/kWh for high-power charging. ORLEN Charge recorded one of the most visible increases, with its standard DC tariff returning to PLN 2.69/kWh.
The figures come from the September charging-price ranking prepared by EV Klub Polska and elektromobilni.pl. The data cover the largest public charging networks in Poland and increasingly show that a simple one-price comparison no longer captures the market. Power level, location, time of day, subscription plans and temporary promotions now all influence what drivers actually pay.
Fast charging carries a clear premium
| Charging type | Average price | Premium vs AC |
|---|---|---|
| AC | PLN 1.99/kWh | — |
| DC below 150 kW | PLN 2.55/kWh | +PLN 0.56 (+28.1%) |
| HPC 150 kW+ | PLN 2.70/kWh | +PLN 0.71 (+35.7%) |
ORLEN and Enefit move back to higher tariffs
One of the clearest changes came from ORLEN Charge. Its standard AC rate rose from PLN 1.59 to PLN 1.95/kWh, while DC charging increased from PLN 2.19 to PLN 2.69/kWh. The same PLN 2.69 rate now applies to HPC charging.
Enefit also raised standard prices. AC charging increased from PLN 1.78 to PLN 1.99/kWh and DC below 150 kW from PLN 2.16 to PLN 2.39/kWh. In percentage terms, the changes amount to roughly 10–23% depending on the tariff.
| Operator / charging type | Previous | Current | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| ORLEN Charge — AC | PLN 1.59 | PLN 1.95 | +22.6% |
| ORLEN Charge — DC | PLN 2.19 | PLN 2.69 | +22.8% |
| Enefit — AC | PLN 1.78 | PLN 1.99 | +11.8% |
| Enefit — DC <150 kW | PLN 2.16 | PLN 2.39 | +10.6% |
Tesla pricing is becoming more location- and time-sensitive
Tesla Supercharger pricing is increasingly difficult to summarise with a single national rate. Prices vary by site, time of day, vehicle type and subscription status. In the broader ranking, Supercharger rates currently range from PLN 0.90 to PLN 3.10/kWh depending on the user profile and location.
Of 19 locations included in the September comparison, peak prices increased at 14, fell at three and were unchanged at two. The largest increases for non-Tesla users included Gdańsk and Poznań A4, where peak prices rose from PLN 2.30 to PLN 2.90/kWh, and Warsaw Chopin Airport, where the rate increased from PLN 2.60 to PLN 3.10/kWh.
The cheapest charging increasingly depends on the ecosystem
The market is moving toward a model in which the cost of energy depends not only on the charger itself but also on the app, subscription and charging habits of the driver. GreenWay, for example, charges PLN 1.89/kWh for AC and PLN 2.99/kWh for DC without a subscription, while its highest monthly plan cuts the rates to PLN 1.60 and PLN 2.10 respectively. IONITY also offers lower per-kWh rates in higher subscription tiers.
For frequent public-charging users, choosing a network and tariff package can therefore matter more than the headline average. The September ranking shows that Poland’s charging market is becoming more sophisticated — and more complicated — at the same time.
