Piotr Iwo Chmielewski has taken over as President of the Management Board of Rohlig SUUS Logistics, the largest Polish logistics operator through family succession. He replaces his father, Tadeusz Chmielewski, who is moving to the Supervisory Board. This change is part of a long-term succession plan aimed at ensuring the continuity and further development of the company.
Piotr Iwo Chmielewski has been associated with SUUS since 2017. For the last four years, he has sat on the company’s board, where he was previously responsible for areas of strategy, sustainable development, technology and digitisation, sales, marketing, and communication. He was involved in working on the company’s business strategy, the process of international expansion, and the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions related to the supply chain area. He also oversaw the preparation and implementation of the first ESG strategy of the Polish operator. Before joining SUUS, he gained experience in consulting for several years, advising many companies in Europe on strategies, sales, and marketing investments in the FMCG, retail, finance, energy, and private equity sectors.
Piotr Iwo Chmielewski says, “SUUS has been with me since birth, in fact, we are contemporaries. Throughout my life, I have been proud to see how dynamically the company is developing – first through the eyes of a child, then a teenager, and finally an adult. I am pleased that for the last seven years, including the last four as a board member, I can be part of this organisation, and today I have the honour and pleasure to take over as President of the Board through family succession. It is a great challenge to replace my mentor and father, so I am glad that I will still be able to benefit from his knowledge and experience as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.”
Tadeusz Chmielewski will continue to support the company’s operations. He has moved to the Supervisory Board, where he has taken on the role of Chairman. He will focus on supporting the operator’s sales and international expansion, as well as the development of other entities within the SUUS Capital Group.
SUUS has been on the market for nearly 35 years and has developed dynamically. The Polish operator has built a network of over 30 branches in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, employing more than 2,500 people. The company has foreign companies in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Kazakhstan. It also operates over 350,000 square meters of warehouse space. The company has also made acquisitions in Poland, taking over the company EXPERT, specializing in the delivery of oversized goods, such as furniture, consumer electronics, and added services.
In addition to logistics, the SUUS Group also invests in industrial real estate and entities from the so-called pleasure & leisure area, including Wine Avenue, a wine and spirits distributor, and Karma House, a hotel and restaurant located in Gościeńczyce, Mazovia region.
