COMPANIESPinsent Masons Opens in Poland with a Team of More Than 40 Lawyers

International law firm Pinsent Masons is entering the Polish market with the launch of a new office in Warsaw. The firm begins operations with a team of more than 40 professionals, giving it the scale and experience needed to advise on complex investment projects from day one.

The Warsaw office has been built around lawyers who have spent years advising investors, developers, private equity and venture capital funds, financial institutions and corporate groups active in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe. Its core practice areas will include real estate, infrastructure, construction, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and cross-border matters.

The Warsaw team will be jointly led by Bartłomiej Kordeczka and Jakub Marcinkowski. The founding group also includes Maciej Jodkowski, Piotr Staniszewski, Bartosz Nojek and Błażej Zagórski. Before joining Pinsent Masons, they were associated with leading law firms operating in Poland, including Dentons, DLA Piper, CMS and Greenberg Traurig. Mark Harris, an international partner at Pinsent Masons, will also relocate to Warsaw and join the new office.

“We are bringing to Pinsent Masons long-standing business relationships, extensive experience and a team of practitioners who have worked on projects of very different scale — from local investment ventures to complex international transactions involving individual assets, portfolios and corporate structures. We know how we work together and advise clients as one team, without internal competition. Pinsent Masons, in turn, gives us an international platform, sector expertise and tools developed in other markets. This matters for clients who expect advice grounded in the realities of the local market, but supported by the experience of a global organisation,” said Bartłomiej Kordeczka, Co-Managing Partner of the Pinsent Masons office in Warsaw.

Poland as a Key Transaction Market in CEE

The opening of the Warsaw office reflects Poland’s growing importance as an investment and transaction market in Europe. The significance of Poland and the wider CEE region is also visible in Pinsent Masons’ client base, as a substantial proportion of the firm’s largest global clients are already present in Poland or elsewhere in the region.

“Warsaw is a natural hub for handling transactions and investment projects in the region, particularly where local market knowledge, regulatory context and the standards expected by international investors are essential. Our aim is for the Warsaw office to manage such projects efficiently, with a strong understanding of clients’ business objectives and in close cooperation with Pinsent Masons teams in other jurisdictions,” said Jakub Marcinkowski, Co-Managing Partner of the Pinsent Masons office in Warsaw.

The Warsaw team advises on mergers and acquisitions, the sale and purchase of real estate in various transaction structures, portfolio deals, joint ventures, as well as the financing and refinancing of commercial properties, investment projects and companies.

Integrated Teams and Technology in Client Service

In Poland, Pinsent Masons will develop a model based on cooperation between lawyers from different jurisdictions, the sharing of client relationships and integrated international client service. This approach is particularly important in matters requiring the rapid combination of expertise and the coordination of teams operating across several markets.

The launch also reflects broader changes in the legal advisory market. Pinsent Masons continues to develop advanced technology tools, including solutions based on artificial intelligence.

“The legal services market is clearly being reshaped by technology, but the quality of advice still depends on the experience of the lawyer. Digital tools make it possible to organise documents more effectively, prepare materials faster and manage information more efficiently. In large transactions and complex investment projects, this has a real impact on the pace of work and the quality of service,” Bartłomiej Kordeczka emphasised.

Global Experience for the Polish Market

Pinsent Masons intends to use in Poland the experience it has gained on some of the most demanding infrastructure and capital investment projects worldwide. The firm’s teams have advised on major undertakings including the Channel Tunnel, Wembley Stadium, infrastructure for the London Olympic Games, nuclear projects, offshore wind developments and investments linked to the Belt and Road Initiative.

“Expanding our presence in Europe remains one of Pinsent Masons’ strategic goals. Poland is an important market for many of our clients, particularly those from Western Europe, and a significant investment destination in Central and Eastern Europe. In Warsaw, we are launching with a team that has a strong track record, market credibility and experience in demanding projects,” said Andrew Masraf, Senior Partner at Pinsent Masons.

Pinsent Masons plans to continue developing its Warsaw office. In the next stages, the firm intends to strengthen capabilities in areas that are important for investors and companies operating in Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe.
