EDP announced on 1 July 2026 that Pedro Vinagre has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for its European region excluding the Iberian Peninsula, effective immediately.
In his new role, Vinagre will lead EDP’s operations across several European markets, including Italy, Poland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Greece, Belgium, Luxembourg, Romania and Hungary.
He will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects, primarily in solar power, wind energy and energy storage. His responsibilities will also include on-site energy solutions for industrial clients.
Vinagre joined EDP in 2010 and has since held a number of senior management positions within the group, including roles in Networks, Retail and Client Solutions.
He served as Customer Service Director for three years and spent six years as a member of the Executive Board of EDP Client Solutions, the group’s retail business.
Most recently, he was Executive Director for Business Development in Northern and Central Europe and a member of EDP’s European Management Team. In that role, he focused on supporting sustainable and efficient growth, as well as investments in EDP’s renewable energy business across high-potential European markets.
His work was closely linked to the energy transition and the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure throughout the region.
Pedro Vinagre holds a degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and an MBA from INSEAD Business School.
