Paweł Borys is joining the MCI investment team as a managing partner. Alongside the fund’s founder, Tomasz Czechowicz, he will be implementing the strategy to build the largest new technology private equity fund in the CEE region. Paweł Borys is a manager with 24 years of experience in investments and management in Polish and international financial institutions. He will take on the role of President of the Board at MCI Capital TFI S.A. and Vice President of the Board at MCI Capital ASI S.A.

On March 26, the Supervisory Board of MCI Capital ASI S.A. appointed Paweł Borys as Vice President of the Board of the company, effective from April 8, 2024. On the same date, the Supervisory Board of MCI Capital TFI S.A. appointed Paweł Borys as President of the Board at MCI Capital TFI S.A. and Tomasz Czechowicz as Vice President of the Board. Tomasz Czechowicz and Paweł Borys will serve as managing partners in charge of MCI’s private equity investments.

Paweł Borys is a manager with 24 years of professional experience in Polish and international financial institutions. He has worked at Erste Bank, Deutsche Bank, AKJ Investment TFI, PKO Bank Polski, and PFR. He specializes in investments, strategy development, financial services, new technologies, as well as reorganizations and integrations. He has managed public market funds, executed strategic M&As, and private equity investments worth over PLN 20 billion. He has extensive corporate experience in managing organizations and serving on over 20 supervisory boards, including 3 banks and 2 TFI.

He has led or participated in projects such as the transformation of PKO Bank Polski, restructuring and new strategy for Kredobank in Ukraine, creation of a joint venture between eService and EVO Payments International, establishment of BLIK, creation of the PFR Group and transformation of Polish development institutions, implementation of the Employee Capital Plans program, execution of the PFR Financial Shield during the pandemic, building the largest PE/VC investment platform in the region at PFR Ventures, creation of the National Cloud in partnership with Google and Microsoft, and the Central Technology Hub.

He is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Polish Economic Institute. He has been honored with numerous awards including “Man of the 30th Anniversary” by the Economic Forum in Karpacz, “Finance Visionary” by the Banking & Insurance Forum, “Personality of the Year” by SuperBiznes, “Digital Shapers” by the Digital Poland Foundation, “Bulls and Bears” by Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet. He is married and has three children.
