On September 24, 2025, at the headquarters of Military Communications Works No. 1 S.A. (WZŁ Nr 1 S.A.) in Zegrze, a contract was signed for the delivery of 56 Mobile Communications Nodes (MCCs) as part of the second phase of the WISŁA program. The agreement was concluded between the State Treasury – Armament Agency and WZŁ Nr 1 S.A., with a value exceeding PLN 2 billion.
A key element of the WISŁA program
The WISŁA program is one of the most important modernization projects of the Polish Armed Forces. It aims to establish a multi-layered air defense system based on advanced technologies compatible with NATO systems. The Mobile Communications Nodes supplied by WZŁ Nr 1 S.A. will provide secure, encrypted, and interference-resistant communications at both tactical and operational levels.
“This is an important moment as we are building Poland’s multi-layered air defense – an anti-drone and anti-missile shield. Poland is developing world-class capability in communications between sensors and effectors, allowing us to effectively respond to threats from drones, missiles, or aircraft,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the signing ceremony.
Delivery schedule and scope
The contract provides for the delivery of 56 MCCs between 2027 and 2030, along with a logistics and training package. It is one of the largest contracts in the nearly 70-year history of WZŁ Nr 1 S.A.
Supporting Polish industry
The defense minister emphasized the significance of the deal for Poland’s defense industry and broader economy:
“The government is investing in the Polish economy and new jobs. The defense sector is becoming a driving force for economic growth and national security. More and more resources will be allocated to drone, anti-drone, missile-defense, and air-defense systems.”
According to the Ministry of Defense, investing in domestic communications infrastructure under the WISŁA program not only strengthens Poland’s military security but also supports the development of technological capabilities and lays the groundwork for further expansion of defense capacities.
