ORLEN to Supply Ukraine With 300 Million Cubic Meters of U.S. Natural Gas in Q1 2026 — A New Stage of Cooperation With Naftogaz

ENERGYORLEN to Supply Ukraine With 300 Million Cubic Meters of U.S. Natural Gas in Q1 2026 — A New Stage of Cooperation With Naftogaz

ORLEN has signed an agreement with its Ukrainian partner for the delivery of 300 million cubic meters of natural gas sourced from the United States in the first quarter of 2026. The contract is the result of arrangements made during the transatlantic cooperation summit (P-TEC) held in early November 2025 in Athens.

“Only a few days passed between the signing of the letter of intent by ORLEN and Naftogaz and the actual conclusion of the agreement. During this time, we finalised all the details and obtained the necessary corporate approvals. This would not have been possible without mutual trust and a strong understanding of each other’s needs and objectives. Cooperation between our companies strengthens the region’s energy security while creating opportunities for both sides to continue developing their business and reinforcing their market positions,” said Robert Soszyński, ORLEN Vice President for Operations.

“Thanks to our cooperation with ORLEN, Ukraine will receive 600 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas from the United States this year alone. We anticipate that in 2026 total LNG imports from the U.S. will reach 1 billion cubic meters. We are expanding our import capabilities and diversifying supply routes to enhance Ukraine’s energy security. I thank our Polish partners for the trust they have placed in us,” highlighted Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Under the contract, ORLEN will deliver gas to Naftogaz in Q1 2026 sourced from three LNG cargoes shipped from the United States. The transaction is based on market terms. ORLEN will handle the procurement and transport of the LNG, leveraging its own fleet of gas carriers and its reserved regasification capacity. These capabilities support the company’s ambition to become a significant player in the international LNG market. Relying on a diversified and flexible gas supply portfolio, ORLEN continues to strengthen its presence across Central and Eastern Europe.

As part of the long-term commercial cooperation launched with Naftogaz in 2025, ORLEN has already sold 600 million cubic meters of gas to Ukraine. The newly signed contract deepens the relationship between the two companies and may serve as the basis for further agreements.
