ORLEN introduced a sharp increase in wholesale fuel prices on 25 September 2026. The benchmark Eurosuper 95 petrol price rose by PLN 201 per cubic metre in a single day, equivalent to PLN 0.201 per litre net. Pb98 rose even more, while diesel and heating oil also became significantly more expensive.
Under the price list effective from Friday, Eurosuper 95 costs PLN 6,469 per cubic metre net, up from PLN 6,268 a day earlier. Pb98 is priced at PLN 7,291, compared with PLN 7,072 on 24 September. That translates into one-day increases of PLN 201 and PLN 219 per 1,000 litres respectively.
Diesel also moved higher. Ekodiesel increased from PLN 7,342 to PLN 7,483 per cubic metre, a rise of PLN 141. Arctic-grade diesel rose from roughly PLN 7,818 to PLN 7,958, while Ekoterm heating oil increased from PLN 5,945 to PLN 6,096.

Petrol is back near its September peak
September price lists show just how volatile the market has become. ORLEN priced Pb95 at PLN 6,078/m³ on 11 September. By 15 September it had risen to PLN 6,395 and a day later reached PLN 6,473, the month’s high before prices began to correct.
Today’s PLN 6,469 is only PLN 4/m³ below the 16 September level and is the highest price since that day. A large part of the decline seen in the second half of September has therefore been erased in a single session.
The longer-term move is even larger. At the beginning of August Pb95 traded around PLN 5,700/m³ and on 11 August at PLN 5,390. The current level is more than PLN 1,000/m³ above some August quotations.
Diesel at its highest since 19 September
Ekodiesel reached PLN 7,563/m³ on 17 September before falling to PLN 7,522 on 19 September, PLN 7,440 on 22 September, PLN 7,347 on 23 September and PLN 7,342 on 24 September. The latest increase to PLN 7,483 reverses a substantial part of that correction.
Diesel is now at its highest since 19 September, although it remains PLN 80/m³ below the monthly peak. In early August the picture was very different: on 6 August Ekodiesel cost around PLN 6,200/m³. In less than two months, the wholesale price has therefore increased by more than PLN 1,200/m³.
Wholesale increases may reach filling stations
Wholesale changes are not passed through automatically or in full to retail prices. Filling stations hold inventories bought earlier, while final prices also depend on margins, local competition, transport costs and the pricing policies of individual chains.
A one-day wholesale move of this size nevertheless increases upward pressure on pump prices, particularly if the higher levels persist for several days. For stations buying new supplies, the cost of Pb95 rose by more than PLN 0.20 per litre net in a day, while diesel rose by more than PLN 0.14.
