ENERGYORLEN and Ukraine’s Naftogaz Sign Third Gas Supply Agreement – Total Volume Reaches 300 Million Cubic Meters

ORLEN and Ukraine’s Naftogaz have signed a new contract for the supply of an additional 100 million cubic meters of natural gas. This marks the third agreement under the companies’ long-term cooperation framework. Thanks to the signed memorandum, a total of 300 million cubic meters of U.S. gas will be delivered to Ukraine.

“This new agreement with Naftogaz underscores ORLEN’s growing importance as a natural gas supplier in the region. Our cooperation strengthens Ukraine’s energy security by leveraging ORLEN’s diversified gas portfolio and the effective use of Poland’s transmission infrastructure. We are ready to continue supporting Ukraine with stable and diversified gas sources,” said Robert Soszyński, Vice President of ORLEN’s Management Board for Operations.

“Our cooperation and this third gas supply agreement mark another step in strengthening the energy partnership between our companies and ensuring stable fuel supplies for Ukrainian consumers. In the context of preparing for the upcoming heating season, contracts like this are a crucial part of our diversification strategy and enhancing the country’s energy resilience,” said Roman Chumak, Acting CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

The third contract between ORLEN and Naftogaz was announced during the 14th edition of the ORLEN GAS Meeting, one of the key industry events focused on the future of the gas market and energy security. The gas to be delivered under this agreement will be sourced from the United States in the form of LNG, regasified at the Świnoujście terminal in Poland, and transported via the national transmission system to the Ukrainian border.

The memorandum of understanding between ORLEN and Naftogaz regarding gas supplies to Ukraine was signed in March of this year. Since then, the companies have concluded three contracts totaling 300 million cubic meters. The execution of these agreements aligns with ORLEN’s strategy to diversify its sales markets and strengthen its role as a regional leader in the gas sector.
