As the year draws to a close, the number of applicants seeking funding under the NaszEauto priority program is rising rapidly. Data from the end of October shows that more than half of the program’s planned budget has been used within nine months. According to estimates from EV Klub Polska and elektromobilni.pl, the second half of the funds will likely be exhausted around January or February 2026.
Those interested in purchasing an electric vehicle with support from the NaszEauto program should not delay their decision. Each month brings record-high registrations of electric vehicles and funding applications submitted to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW). The pace of budget use is steadily accelerating. By the end of October, approximately PLN 608 million out of PLN 1.18 billion had been used — equivalent to 51% of the total budget.
When the NaszEauto program was launched in February this year, authorities registered 1,675 new electric cars and recorded 1,125 applications to NFOŚiGW. By October, registrations had surged to approximately 4,798, and applications to 3,941 — an increase of 186% and 250%, respectively. A total of 19,588 applications have been submitted so far — 72% for leasing and 28% for direct purchase.
“In October, electric vehicles accounted for 9.1% of all new passenger car registrations in Poland — another record, which would not have been possible without the support program. The electromobility market will need additional incentives after the NaszEauto program ends,” says Maciej Gis, Campaign Manager at elektromobilni.pl and Communications & PR Director of the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSNM).
However, beneficiaries must be patient. The number of approved and paid applications is growing much more slowly. The first disbursements under NaszEauto did not begin until June this year, and by October, only 1,067 applications had been settled. Although the approval rate barely exceeded 10% after nine months, the program must be fully settled and closed by the end of August 2026. This means that all applicants with approved applications must receive reimbursements by that deadline.
It is important to remember that the NaszEauto program was launched in February 2025 with a budget of PLN 1.6 billion. In October, the budget was reduced to PLN 1.18 billion. At the same time, payout amounts were increased, and the pool of potential beneficiaries widened to include delivery vehicles up to 3.5 tons (N1 category) and minibuses up to 5 tons (M2 category). In the latter case, funding may reach as high as PLN 600,000.
In theory, NFOŚiGW will accept applications until April 30, 2026. However, all signs indicate that the budget will run out earlier. EV Klub Polska estimates this will happen around January or February 2026. Applications submitted at that time will be the last to qualify for funding. NFOŚiGW must process all applications by June 30, 2026, and beneficiaries must receive their subsidies by the end of August. These deadlines are non-negotiable, forcing the Fund to accelerate both application review and payouts.
“Those wishing to secure funding for the purchase of an electric vehicle should act quickly. Given the rapid increase in applications, combined with vehicle delivery lead times and the formalities involved in submitting a grant application — such as obtaining a vehicle registration certificate, notarized promissory note, or insurance assignment — it’s best to choose a car available immediately or with a confirmed delivery date. This will help ensure that all paperwork is processed in time to submit the application no later than January 2026,” advises Łukasz Lewandowski, President of EV Klub Polska.
