MLP Group has begun construction work on the MLP Business Park Schalke. This sustainable business park, with a rental space exceeding 72,000 square meters, is being developed on the site of the former Thyssen factory, and has been designed specifically for small and medium enterprises. The general contractor for the project is Bremer.

MLP Group officially started the construction of the MLP Business Park Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The modern business park is being developed in the Schalke-Nord district on the site of the former Thyssen factory, which has been largely undeveloped for several years. In cooperation with the City of Gelsenkirchen, modern spaces are being created primarily catering to the needs of small and medium businesses.

This new investment will significantly contribute to the urban development of the region, supporting the goals of the Integrated Development Concept for Schalke-Nord, while contributing to the revitalization of the district. This 12-hectare site will house over 72,000 square meters of flexible rental space, meeting the high standards of sustainable development set by MLP Group. The buildings will be constructed using resource-saving solutions and will be equipped with modern offices, social spaces, and attractive green areas, which will provide comfortable working conditions and rest areas conducive to integration.

Bremer’s representative, Florian Röhrs, said: “The MLP Business Park Schalke project provides us with another opportunity to showcase our competencies as a general contractor in implementing revitalization projects. Thanks to the appropriately developed concept and harmonious incorporation into the environment, this space will be not only environmentally but also socially sustainable. We are grateful to MLP Group for the fruitful cooperation and look forward to further project implementation.”

Karin Welge, the Mayor of Gelsenkirchen city, emphasised: “The MLP Business Park Schalke project will make a significant contribution to the economic and urban development of our district. By revitalizing the unused industrial area, the MLP Group is creating essential space for new enterprises, while also opening up new prospects for the northern part of Schalke. We are delighted that an investment that will prove to be a pillar for the future trade and industry in Gelsenkirchen will be established on this historic site.”

Martin Birkert, Chief Country Officer Germany at MLP Group, said, “The commencement of construction work is a key stage in the development of the MLP Business Park Schalke. We are delighted about the fruitful cooperation with all involved parties, and we are eager to continue the project that will revitalize this area through modern industrial use. The modern business park will create new perspectives for small and medium businesses while making a lasting contribution to the development of the regional economy.”

Radosław T. Krochta, President of the MLP Group S.A. highlighted: “Germany is our strategic direction for expansion. It is the largest market in Europe with still a gigantic growth potential. We successfully conducted the first offer of privileged green bonds with a value of 300 million euros. The funds raised will be primarily used for further development in this country.”

The completion of the construction of the first warehouse, with an area of around 30,000 square meters, is planned for the fourth quarter of 2025.
