Microsoft has announced updates to its leadership team in Poland. In January 2026, Ilona Tomaszewska took on the role of Director responsible for the partner channel (EPS Lead), while Tomasz Wilecki joined the company’s senior leadership as Public Sector Lead. Microsoft says both appointments strengthen the local leadership team and support the company’s strategic objectives—especially as it continues to expand across key markets and sectors.
The changes also carry an organizational message: they underscore the importance of strong leadership in building lasting customer relationships and delivering tangible value from digital transformation—particularly in cloud and artificial intelligence.
Ilona Tomaszewska: Scaling the Partner Ecosystem and AI Transformation
Ilona Tomaszewska is a leader with more than 20 years of experience in the technology and sales industry. She has been with Microsoft for 16 years and, immediately before taking on her new role, served as Public Sector Lead in Poland, supporting digital transformation projects in areas such as public administration and healthcare.
Throughout her career at Microsoft, she has built managerial experience across multiple business segments—from sales and key account management to market leadership and transformation programs. Before joining Microsoft, she worked at DELL Poland and Xerox, where she was responsible for sales development and executing growth strategies.
In her new position, Tomaszewska will focus on expanding Microsoft’s partner network in Poland. She emphasizes that partners are a cornerstone of the company’s local presence:
“The network of more than 7,500 Polish partner companies is the backbone of Microsoft’s business in Poland. My priority is the continued, consistent development of the partner ecosystem in Poland, so that every organization can fully leverage the potential of AI transformation.”
From a market perspective, this signals a stronger push to scale AI implementations and capabilities, while increasing the availability of Microsoft solutions through local systems integrators, consulting firms, and software companies.
Tomasz Wilecki: A Return to the Public Sector, with a Focus on Secure Cloud and AI
In his new role, Tomasz Wilecki is responsible for developing Microsoft’s strategic cooperation with public institutions in Poland. He has been with the company for more than 19 years, holding sales and leadership positions across both the public sector and commercial customer segments.
Over the course of his career, he has worked with some of Poland’s largest organizations, co-creating partnerships and transformation initiatives in sectors such as public administration, banking, insurance, industry, and retail. Most recently, he served as AI Business Solutions Sales Lead, driving the development of AI solutions and business applications and supporting organizations in defining strategy and implementing AI in critical processes.
Wilecki notes that after several years in other parts of the organization, he is returning to the public sector—and plans to grow this segment through cloud and AI, with a strong emphasis on security and responsibility:
“My priority is the further development of this strategic segment and building long-term value for the public sector through the secure and responsible use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.”
What These Changes Mean for the Market
Taken together, the two appointments point to two pillars Microsoft intends to use to accelerate growth in Poland:
- The partner channel — crucial for scaling deployments, especially during a period of rapid AI adoption by companies and institutions.
- The public sector — a strategic arena where long-term programs, data security, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure stability play a decisive role.
