Marcin Gołębiewski has been appointed as the General Manager of UPS in Central Europe. He will be responsible for overseeing logistics operations and steering the business development and strategy of a region that encompasses six markets: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, and Ukraine.

“I’m delighted to return to Poland. I started my career here, and now I have the honor of working with an exceptional team and developing business in a region that is one of the most dynamic in Europe. We have many tasks ahead of us. One of them is to support local entrepreneurs in opening up new trade opportunities, both domestically and abroad,” says Marcin Gołębiewski.

UPS in Central Europe employs more than 2,100 people and operates five leading logistics facilities, including those in Poland, such as in Mysłowice and Łazy. These facilities aim to support the Central European market, where the Czech Republic and Slovakia lead in terms of internet users purchasing goods and services online (E-shoppers) at a rate of 85% and 84%. According to the latest eCommerce Europe report, this percentage is 78% and 73% in Hungary and Poland, respectively.

Marcin Gołębiewski joined UPS in 2004 as an Accounting Manager. Over the years, he held several financial roles in the Region, in Poland and Italy, before being promoted to the position of CFO of UPS for Central Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Before taking up his current position, Marcin focused on commercial development and operational improvements that increased UPS’s competitiveness. He successfully led several projects that positively influenced customer satisfaction and had a significant effect on optimizing operations.

Marcin Gołębiewski will be based in Warsaw, Poland, and will directly report to Kim Ruymbeke, who recently took over as the District President of East EMEAI at UPS. Kim oversees the implementation of UPS’s strategies in Germany and the Alpine countries, Central Europe, Turkey, and also the Middle East and Africa. Her leadership will play a key role in supporting synergies between these diverse regions to ensure continuous development and excellence in service delivery.
