Preliminary August CPI readings in Poland have been released. Both on an annual basis (2.8% vs. 3.1% in July) and on a monthly basis (-0.1% vs. 0.3% in July), inflation figures came in significantly lower than in the previous month.
Such results may prove decisive for an interest rate cut at the upcoming September meeting of the Monetary Policy Council (RPP), potentially even by as much as 50 basis points.
