Liftero, a Polish manufacturer of propulsion technology for space missions, has signed a €333,000 contract with a new customer in Asia. The client is a satellite manufacturer operating in the growing field of on-orbit satellite servicing.

Under the agreement, Liftero will design, prepare and deliver a single BOOSTER propulsion system equipped with eight engines. The delivery and revenue recognition are planned for 2026, while the mission launch could take place in the first half of 2027.

The contract, worth nearly PLN 1.5 million, expands Liftero’s customer base in Asia and strengthens the company’s position in one of the world’s fastest-growing space markets. It also reflects increasing demand for non-toxic chemical propulsion systems tailored to small and medium-sized satellites.

Based on contracts signed to date, Liftero expects to deliver around 20 engines to customers by the end of 2026. These systems are intended for missions scheduled for the first half of 2027. Satellites equipped with BOOSTER propulsion systems are expected to reach orbit aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 and ISRO PSLV launch vehicles.

“The Asian contract, worth nearly PLN 1.5 million and scheduled for delivery this year, confirms that the BOOSTER system responds very well to the needs of customers operating in the most promising segments of the satellite market,” said Tomasz Palacz, CEO of Liftero.

“Satellite servicing requires propulsion systems capable of precise, repeatable and, above all, reliable orbital manoeuvres. Chemical propulsion remains a key factor in the success of such missions. We are pleased that our new Asian customer chose Liftero’s technology despite competition from suppliers with a larger number of propulsion systems already in orbit, as well as local players.”

Palacz added that the contract supports the company’s strategy of entering emerging markets and addressing New Space companies, for which short delivery times, flexible configurations and high performance are particularly important.

Growing commercialisation of BOOSTER technology

The new agreement comes as Liftero enters an intensive phase of commercialisation for its propulsion technology. The company has been steadily strengthening its presence in Asia, where the number of satellite projects and companies building their own supply chains continues to grow.

In March 2026, Liftero signed an agreement to supply two BOOSTER propulsion systems, comprising more than ten engines in total, to Indian company OrbitAID. The latest contract adds another order for a single eight-engine system. Deliveries under both agreements are expected to be completed and settled by the end of 2026.

The company says the planned missions will be an important step in increasing the number of operational BOOSTER engines in orbit. Liftero’s RED5 mission, launched in 2025, demonstrated the system’s performance in orbital conditions and provided the company with flight heritage.

“Expanding the number of products operating in orbit is one of the most important elements in commercialising new space technologies,” said Przemysław Drożdż, COO of Liftero.

“The RED5 mission began this process in 2025 by confirming the operation of the BOOSTER system in orbit. The upcoming missions, equipped with three of our systems and around 20 engines in total, will demonstrate the repeatability and scalability of our solution across different configurations and applications.”

According to Drożdż, Liftero is also increasing its manufacturing capacity as customers increasingly discuss not only individual propulsion systems, but larger multi-year orders.

“Our goal over the next 18 to 24 months is to be ready to manufacture at least several dozen propulsion systems annually. This will allow us to address the needs of constellation projects as well,” he said.

Non-toxic propulsion for the New Space market

BOOSTER is a new generation of chemical propulsion systems using non-toxic propellants. Such technologies are becoming increasingly relevant for New Space companies seeking propulsion solutions designed for small and medium-sized satellites.

Liftero says the system offers advantages in cost, integration and compatibility with the requirements of widely used launch vehicles. Non-toxic chemical propulsion can also provide an alternative to conventional toxic propulsion systems and, in certain mission profiles, electric propulsion.

This is particularly important for missions requiring high performance, fast reaction times and reliable manoeuvring capabilities. Satellite servicing, orbital transfers and other demanding operations may require propulsion systems capable of repeated and precise manoeuvres over the lifetime of a mission.

The planned missions could increase the number of operational BOOSTER engines in orbit to around 20. If successfully completed, they are expected to strengthen market adoption of Liftero’s technology and support discussions with further customers, including constellation operators interested in orders ranging from several dozen to more than one hundred propulsion systems.
