After 14 years of operating in Poland, KiK manages a network of more than 400 stores. For an organisation of this scale, continued development requires numerous decisions to be made in parallel, ranging from opening new locations and modernising or relocating existing stores to closing outlets that no longer meet current business requirements. All these measures serve one objective: strengthening the brand’s position in the Polish market.

KiK is currently focused on the deliberate management of its retail network. In practice, this means applying stricter criteria when selecting new locations and regularly assessing the potential of stores that are already operating. These measures form part of a network optimisation programme that has been under way since 2024.

“Managing a mature network that has been operating for more than 14 years and comprises several hundred stores requires the potential of each location to be continuously assessed. Changing market conditions call for a carefully considered approach. An important part of this process is closing stores that no longer meet our current expectations, as well as refurbishing existing outlets. We focused particularly strongly on refurbishment in 2024, when more than 100 locations were modernised,” said Jan Skowron, Managing Director of the KiK retail chain.

“We are also testing new solutions relating to product displays, store layouts and the presentation of capsule collections, implementing those that deliver the best results. At the same time, we continue to open new stores and extend lease agreements, although we apply very strict requirements. Every decision is based on detailed analysis and forms part of our long-term management strategy,” he added.

So far in 2026, KiK has opened new stores in Limanowa and Wałbrzych and relocated its store in Poznań’s Avenida shopping centre. In line with its adopted plan, the company has also closed more than a dozen unprofitable locations.

Further changes to the structure of the retail network are planned for the second half of the year. Nevertheless, KiK expects to maintain a presence of more than 400 stores in Poland throughout 2026.

Strong Brand and Customer Loyalty

KiK is strengthening not only its market position but also its relationships with customers. This is reflected in the popularity of the myKiK loyalty programme, which has attracted strong interest since its launch.

The programme registered its first one million users within just a few months of being introduced. It is now used by more than 3.5 million active members.

Such a large community demonstrates that KiK has built a strong and loyal customer base over the years, with shoppers regularly returning to the brand’s stores. Its market recognition is also confirmed by this year’s Top Brand award, which KiK received for the eighth time in the textile discount store category.

“Poland remains one of KiK’s most important markets, and we continue to see room for further development. We want to strengthen our position through responsible network management, investment in existing stores and the development of new locations where we identify long-term potential,” Skowron said.

“This approach enables us to build a stable business while responding to changing customer needs and market conditions,” he concluded.

In line with its adopted strategy, KiK plans to open and modernise further stores during the second half of 2026.
