COMPANIESJanuary Ciszewski Takes Control of SatRev, Building a SpaceTech and AI Ecosystem Around the Company

January Ciszewski, one of Poland’s most recognizable investors, has increased his stake in SatRev to 42%, effectively taking control of the company. His goal is to build an ecosystem of space, technology, and AI companies around SatRev to pursue ambitious space projects. Thanks to its sovereign space capabilities and recent achievements — including the successful design, construction, and launch of the BlueBON satellite and the development of a ground station in Oman — SatRev is becoming a key player in the Polish and European spacetech market.

Ciszewski has long invested in future-oriented industries, consistently backing sectors that later prove transformative for the economy. He achieved such success with Columbus Energy S.A. in green energy, where he was among the first to invest in renewables, reaping above-average returns.

Following transactions on Monday to purchase shares from Grzegorz Zwoliński and Damian Fijałkowski, Ciszewski (directly and through his companies JRH ASI S.A. and Imperio ASI S.A.) now holds 42% of SatRev’s shares. This gives him effective control over one of the fastest-growing NewSpace companies in Poland.

“By increasing my involvement in SatRev, I expect further successes. Over the past year, the company has transformed dramatically. We are building a spacetech ecosystem and negotiating with partners from the space, AI, deeptech, and telecom sectors. We also expect more companies and startups from these industries to join, seeing synergies with SatRev. In this way, we are creating a spacetech cluster around the company,” said Ciszewski.

This vision is already materializing. In January 2025, SatRev successfully launched the BlueBON satellite, built in cooperation with South Korea’s TelePIX. Its mission focuses on monitoring “blue carbon” — marine ecosystems that capture CO₂ — aligning with global climate protection efforts. Operated from SatRev’s mission control center in Wrocław, the satellite is managed using both proprietary ground stations and partner facilities in Sweden and South Africa. The company highlighted its sovereign capabilities at the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, showcasing independently acquired Earth images covering up to 6,000 km² daily.

In June 2025, SatRev opened a ground station in Oman, developed with local innovator ETCO. The facility, equipped with a 3.5m antenna and protective dome designed in Wrocław, operates in a Ground Station as a Service (G-SaaS) model. Its modular design enables easy expansion with new antennas, communication bands, or AI integration. “This station is an example of how Polish companies can take the lead in critical areas of the future, from space technology to strategic infrastructure. Data sovereignty, operational independence, and rapid access to information are now fundamental to security and development,” Ciszewski noted.

SatRev’s ambitions extend beyond individual projects. The company is advancing toward offering end-to-end services — from satellite design and construction to data acquisition and analytics. “We are very satisfied with the talks at MSPO in Kielce, where we showcased our sovereign space capabilities. We saw significant interest from potential clients and hope that promising discussions will lead to contracts,” said Dr. Daniel Więzik, SatRev’s CEO.

With global demand for space solutions rising, especially at the intersection of defense, SatRev aims to expand partnerships with the Polish Armed Forces, as well as with EU and NATO institutions increasingly investing in satellite technologies. “Our successful projects with international partners in Korea (TelePIX) and Oman (ETCO) prove that SatRev has already crossed the so-called ‘valley of death’ and emerged with complete solutions and valuable intellectual property. In my view, SatRev will become a global spacetech player,” Ciszewski added.

Looking ahead, SatRev is preparing to enter the NewConnect market through a reverse merger with the listed company ECL S.A. The process is at an advanced stage, with a debut expected soon — a milestone that will provide broader access to capital and enable further global expansion.

“Increasing my commitment to SatRev is the result of over a year of intensive work with the company’s managers and engineers, which has already delivered major milestones such as the BlueBON satellite and the Oman ground station. Having achieved these goals, I am stepping up both financially and strategically. We’ve also made changes to the management board and will strengthen SatRev’s team, building on the strong foundation already laid,” Ciszewski said.
